so i'm ashamed to admit this but i know nothing about Charli XCX but i hear about her all the time. anyone have an album recommendation or a starter playlist handy?
listen to her self titled and how i’m feeling now in full. her early work is good but these two are near perfect pop records
listened to self-titled first, and it was interesting but it didn't really grip me. but "how i'm feeling now" got me right away. brilliant record. for a fan of electronic and hip-hop it is super fun hearing all the different influences permeating the record, without turning it into anything other than a pop record.
i'll revisit s/t and listen to the earlier stuff as well, just wanted to post this update.

I liked Pop 2 more than Charli. How I'm Feeling Now is really great tho.

Has anyone done the Blend that Spotify is offering? They are pushing it again with Wrapped so one of my friends who is not on the boards requested to blend with me yesterday. But this is just after I had to figure out my pick for the Pain prompt for the Afterlife thread. So my contributions to our blend include: FLips-Feeling Yourself Distintegrate Jeff Buckley-Lover, You Should've Come Over Ryan Adams: Dear Chicago Wilco: Jesus, Etc Bowerbirds: Tuck the Darkness In The War on Drugs: Suffering Dr. Dog: Abandoned Mansion Ryan Adams: Come Pick Me Up Elliott Smith: Angeles Iron and Wine: Naked as We Came The Magnetic Fields: I Don't Want to Get Over You Sun Kil Moon: Carry Me Ohio Dr. Dog: Bring My Baby Back
He was like, "are you Okay? Do I need to come there?"
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
