LOTS of anime talk. Skip to like the 42 minute mark if that's not your thing.
Oh God no. Regardless of if I like something or not, I enjoy hearing people get excited about something they love. It’s one of the things that makes me wanna check stuff out.

You say that now but wait until you're subjected to me waxing poetic about Josh Allen for seven consecutive hours...

See, I have no idea who Josh Allen is. This is PERFECT.

I can tell you about the time I almost got arrested for sleeping in a van at a fish hatchery in Mississippi. According to the cops the people in jail “THEY LIKE YOUR (my) TYPE”.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Finished Silver Surfer's episode. Had several things I thought to respond to as I was listening but am just going to keep it on two.
Congrats on the weight loss. It's funny bc we've been friends on the Facebook since before the pandemic, and it never clicked in my head until you said something. I lost about the same amount of weight a few years ago, and it's really hard to describe how different it makes life to people.
As jorgeandthekraken touched on in the interview, that spot after college can be really tough, and I'm sure it's more so with how upside the world has been since you graduated. I graduated college in 2002, and I really flat lined after that for a couple years. I should have been looking at grad school, but the idea of more school at the time seemed just horrendous. Like yourself, I was also really intimidated at the idea of finding my "adult job" to the point where I just didn't try. I was working a shitty retail job and staying there felt easier. It took those couple years before I moved on to a job at the rehab which seemed professional but really wasn't. Do that for some years before moving to an office job with the police and then finally getting an environmental science job that I actually really enjoy at 32 years old. Looking back, it's kind of the path I needed to take to have myself right, but at the time, there was a lot of feeling left behind with seeing friends who appeared to have it figured out right after they graduated. You'll find your course.

Thank you!!! I really hope so ❤
Or you’ll never really find anything you want to do and you’ll still be fine.
I need to catch up but work is stupid. I know I say every show is worse than the last but this is for real for real. Hopefully I will have time to listen soon.

Silver Surfer - just listening to your episode and wanted to see if you’ve looked into working holiday visas? You mentioned that you were potentially interested in living in Europe and working holiday visas are the easiest way to do that. You can get them in a few countries and they’re usually only available to under 30’s.
I don’t think Americans really know that WHVs are an option that’s out there (I know I didn’t and I don’t know anyone else who’s actually done one). But it’s the easiest way to live abroad and potentially work to fund your travels. Australia and New Zealand offer them. I think Ireland also has one as well. Then I know Spain, Portugal and South Korea are some non-English speaking countries that have them.
But if you’re serious about potentially living overseas it’s a super easy way to do it and when you know about it early you can potentially do multiple countries!!

Looking to stylistically change the format in order to get everyone who hasn't gotten on- on. Im thinking full structure and only like 30 mins unless we get to talking LOL. But there are still tons of stories we havent heard!

That sounds sick! ty for the rec!
If you have a degree you can always do what I did and teach abroad for a year or ten.
I don’t know why people are scared to do this because of their job. Your job is never going to find out about this random podcast. You don’t even use your full name.

For me it just came down not having any time. Being that I'm no longer in try hard mode I'll have more though.
