Ravyn Lenae album is fantastic top to bottom. Didn't listen to any of the singles previously. Skin Tight is one of the best songs I've heard this year.
jfc I thought I had the start of how I was leaning this month, then Cave In happened and kicked everything I thought down.
I've been a fan of Cave In forever and this new album still blew me away. In The Guardian's review they put it up there with Jupiter and I thought "no way..." but here we are.

Second vote for Cave In - Heavy Pendulum
I’m still in awe of this. Brodsky just slays here. Also, good on them for filling Caleb’s shoes with Nate. I don’t really think there was a lot of options to do that and he/this feels so natural. Pretty sure it’s gonna be my AotM.

so much stuff in may, I need to listen to some and relisten to others. fell a bit behind.
shuck did you check out Slang Cockroach in a Ghost town ? It's Janet Weiss' project with a bunch of PNW peeps.
This particular configuration also includes Modern Kin’s Drew Grow, former Thermals member Kathy Foster, and Viva Voce’s Anita Lee Elliot...an album that, by the way, features guest appearances from current and former Weiss bandmates such as Sam Coomes (Quasi), Stephen Malkmus (Pavement, Jicks), and Mary Timony (Helium, Ex Hex, Wild Flag).

No idea that was even out, I assumed she was gearing up for more Quasi stuff instead based on her upcoming tour announcement (/cancellation). I’ll definitely check it out!

If the new SG Goodman album "Teeth Marks" isn't on your listen list, highly recommend adding it. Jim James produced her last album not sure if he's tied to this one or not, but this album is spectacular. Super diverse sonically yet cohesive, lyrically brilliant "All My Love Is Coming Back to Me" and "Keeper of Time" are especially excellent.
