Also the 14 lineup was received very well here you can lookup the lineup discussion thread from 14. There were some anti Kanye goobers but mostly everyone was excited af.
Tbh I care as much about seeing J Cole as I do Harry Styles
Billie has played 2 of the last 4 bonnaroos right?
Even if Kanye’s show is all classics there’s so much about him that feels icky to support in 2022. Propping up a serial rapist in Marilyn Manson just to be controversial is a bridge too far even if you’ve forgiven him for the MAGA bullshit and subsequent presidential run
I’ll take Tool and Stevie over those imo
Billie only played Bonnaroo in 2018, before she became super huge. She's the only headliner over at Coachella I'd rather have tbh. I mean Kanye is an obvious upgrade from J.Cole as far as music but I agree with your other comments about him. I don't care for Harry Styles at all.

Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

couldq sworn she played two years in a row
Maybe I’m thinking of Dua Lipa
You are. Dua and Billie were both on the Roo 18 lineup but neither had blown up obviously.
hate to break up the Roo vs. Chella discourse but this Clozee set is really doing it for me rn
plus it seems it might’ve been on the virtual Roo thing?
yeah, i am into the clozee
any other suggestions to check out for her? obviously listening to this one rn and i listened to that sunset downtempo one earlier. the downtempo was great but this current one is hitting me much harder

Working on a playlist now, the friends I usually go with are into this so I'm gonna try to give it more of a chance. I'm excited to get into these electronic names that I don't know since that seems to be a highlight.
Thank you!!!! I loved your playlist from 2020/2021 was hoping you’d do another one.
It’s finished!!
Features at least 2-3 songs from everyone but in most cases more like 5-10, give or take a little.

Harry, Billie and Kanye is no doubt the more attention grabbing top 3, but I think I'd personally take Roo's.
I love Billie, and admittedly I've never seen her live, but her music doesn't feel like it would translate well live in a crowd of 100,000. I used to be the biggest Kanye stan, but he's just repeatedly let me down over the last 5 years. The MAGA hat, his defense of sexual abusers, his half assed musical output, etc. I'd watch his set but it would be begrudgingly. Harry Styles is definitely a great and unique get, but I'd be lying if I said I knew more than 3 songs by him.
Meanwhile with Roo's headliners, while kinda underwhelming, still has bucket list acts like Stevie and Tool.
i'd heard that barely anyone saw the stone roses at coachella. they must have had a great publicist to convince coachella they could headline let alone having any interest in that in america
I've been in some small crowds for headliners at Coachella. I remember being pretty close to rail at the start of LCD, and had to move back after half the set or so because my friend wasn't feeling well, and I was shocked how thin the crowd was.
Radiohead in 2017 didn't seem much better. Awful sound issues didn't help.
I wasn't there in 2013, but I've heard Stone Roses was really small.
i mean, wrong on all counts but that's okay. pobody's nerfect!
13 is definitely Roo if you're counting Bjork, McCartney being before doing every fest, and the fact that Coach was wrong about Phoenix.
I mean, McCartney had already done Coachella by the time he got to Bonnaroo, but whatever
the big thing for me (and this is probably limited to me) is that i dont give two shits about seeing Paul McCartney but Blur was an absolute top-5 bucket list show for me, so Blur alone on the 2013 Coachella lineup eclipses anything Bonnaroo could have done

Right but I just think it's important to point out that he had really only done Coachella which was 4 years earlier. Maybe there were more but I dont really remember. He hadn't blasted through every festival in the country by that point.
And yeah if Blur instantly makes it to where Roo could have done nothing to win, that makes sense.
Anyone even think it is worth doing Band-A-Day this year? The 2020 lineup was received much better, and I only got 33 signups. And that was already a step down from 2019 which had 46...

This is probably only interesting to me but I’m going to post it anyway
Every Friday I browse several different music sites list of new releases and put together a list of new albums to listen to. I try to keep an open mind with genres, and will generally even give acts I hadn’t liked before in the past a try, but I don’t just listen to anything. It’s a mixture of old and new; washed up and relevant; huge acts and small acts. According to my master list I listened to nearly 700 albums in 2021
So as a barometer for how my taste aligns with Bonnaroo’s lineup this year I figured I’d count the artists that released 2021 albums on my list
This is what I got:
$uicideboy$ Arlo Parks Billy Strings Bleachers Briston Maroney* Claud CHVRCHES COIN Femi Kuti Goose* Indigo De Souza Isaiah Rashad Japanese Breakfast Robert Plant & Alison Krauss Slowthai Sons of Kemet Tierra Whack Wallows The War on Drugs The Weather Station
*I only checked out originally bc they were on the 2021 lineup

So much on there is already known, maybe see if anyone wants to take on the lower-tier stuff? Glad to help (if I can) should you decide to move forward with the project.
