Sounds like despite some messy organization everyone had a blast this weekend. In the ten plus years since my last bonnaroo I can't recall ever feeling this nostalgic for it, even if it has changed a lot since then. I'll be back in the States next summer so really hoping to make a return. Everyone be safe getting home.
not gonna post a whole recap or anything right now but just gotta say what a weekend
i would say i liked the lineup more than most on the forum, but i was still surprised by how incredible this weekend was
feeling super thankful to have finally met so many of you, and i look forward to when we can meet up again. love you weird folks, thanks for welcoming a tender little cat into this community
just pulled in my driveway. my experience was worth the 3 year wait personally. i loved meeting everyone on here that i met and brunch was a blast. my fiancé said the gumbo was her favorite thing all weekend. coffee cake was awesome too. going to bed then i’ll catch up with some of you this week. stay safe and travel safe everyone <3
i’m flipping through these threads and i’m shocked at how much more positive the posts on here are over reddit. like people have said some problems and inconveniences going on but for me i survived and had a good time
Here's the full Tobe Nwigwe set, if anyone's interested. Took me by complete suprise and was my favorite set I watched on stream. Definitely validated his high billing.
I just got back to camp. I’m pretty beat but certainly still hanging. I’ll get Sunday recap and festival shit later in the week. I felt like today was satisfying. Nothing blew my mmind but there was good. I got in and watched maybe 25 minutes of A Hundred Drums. I wasn’t wasted enough yet to be getting down so hopefully those camera did t make me a Hulu meme. Bas was after that and fun as shit again. All Them Witches jammed. Lettuce was great. I didn’t get to see much of Tash because I just couldn’t find any shade at that time. So I ended up with a Lettash Sanchez set. Next was 20 minutes Of the Trees then went to Tierra. She was good as ever. Went to Puscifer. Show had its moments but I don’t know the story the show was presenting. 10 minutes of G Jones then Herbie and Stevie. Everything I paid attention to got at least a B- music saved the weekend for me with all the operational bullshit. There are multiple things to complain about but worst was lack of hand washing or sanitizer around most of the bathrooms. It’s not hard.
lol i was wondering the same thing about hand washing stations/sanitizer. people are obviously going to have to rough it some at bonnaroo but not letting people wash their hands after using the restroom is a weird ask. sanitizer is everywhere now it can’t be that expensive or hard to get a hold of

I think there were logistical steps back that didn't seem to make much sense for people who have been going for years. And not just the last few years but things that were added/improved upon over the years that just would have helped. There was a lack of some basic info or coordination by staff at certain areas (brooer tent had a few issues that never used to be that way.
Balloons high in the sky to locate pods/0lazas is a simple but helpful thing that I don't know why it was taken away.
Also felt like there were less porta-johns then than I remember but they may have been cut more and more over time. I know they have the permanent rooms in one area and some flushable stalls in a couple spots. Though I didn't really have too bad of a wait besides mornings portas by camp. Just wish there was a bit less of a walk.
Second entrance shouldn't have been closed and now I'm concerned they'll decide that it worked well enough this year and keep this setup permanently
But definitely had a lot of positive things. Big screens at the stages, the other tent screen/tower set up, fans in the tents.
And most importantly, the music was just great in most cases. Say what you want about the lineup but I got a lot of great sets out of it. And the crowd seemed mostly chill as usual.
one thing i’ll throw out there is going in people thought there not being paper schedules wasn’t that big of a deal but one of my first timer pals was saying he didn’t like the stage names and i chuckled and said it’s a funny bonnaroo thing but i realized that he genuinely was having a hard time figuring out where all of the stages were. for a map you’d have to look up the app or find some place with a map that by the time you walk over there you could’ve just wandered around to find your destination. idk. i understand sustainability and it being a minor cutback but handing out a map/schedule/guide would’ve gotten people acquainted with the festival better
maybe it’s sabotage so live nation can rename all of the stages after crypto companies

We didn't get garbage or recycle bags either.
And yeah, having the map in your hands is needed for first time. Relying on your cell phone app in an area where service can go up and down all day is lame
I saw someone on Reddit write “holy shit I saw this guy raging at Lane 8” and sure they might’ve been joking but I honestly think I saw this dude walking around too. So fucking funny
He had to be there to see The Chicks. Why were you driving dude?
Here's the full Tobe Nwigwe set, if anyone's interested. Took me by complete suprise and was my favorite set I watched on stream. Definitely validated his high billing.
Stumbled into this set when Black Tiger Sex Machine sound was off. Literally best set of the weekend. Absolute headliner level show to a crowd of like 500 in That Tent. I had tears in my eyes
Glad that set’s out there so I can watch it tonight. I wasn’t missing Billy but was told Tobe was elite. Time to pack shit up and head home. Recap tonight or tomorrow at some point. Shout out to everyone I ran into. Lots to complain about, lots to not complain about. I’ll figure out a Top 10 at some point, but there are moments from plenty of shows that won’t be on it like me singing along with Chvrches, Plant & Krauss doing the Led Zeppelin finale, etc. Safe travels to everyone.
someone's already uploaded 30 min of the war of drugs set onto youtube. i watched it while i was getting ready for work (boo) and i definitely missed out on that one
EDIT: it looks like a channel called Ganji-Videos has been uploading streams. they have coin, chvrches, porter robinson, 21 savage, robert plant and alison krauss, sons of kemet, j cole, bleachers, and a lot more on top of those
instead of a recap i'm just going to write about my favorite moments from the weekend as they come into my head:
goose was my favorite show but i thought tool had the best show. tool had top notch visuals, great setlist, and the band was on point. cool that they did pushit. almost everyone in my group went back to camp before goose but i hung around for the entire thing and hung out with whomever was next to me on the left side of the stage. this was my 8th bonnaroo and the electric avenue cover will probably go down as one of my favorite bonnaroo moments ever. dancing at 245 am to that and also finding some inforoo people during it was magical.
another top moment was king gizz opening with robot stop. we were a little bit in front of the sound booth and to see the crowd immediately go crazy, a guy in a banana suit crowd surfing, and the amalgamation of inflatable shit and dust flying around was fucking awesome. i used to listen to nonagon infinity all of the time with my old roommate that i'm still good friends with so that was a special moment
another unbelievably cool moment for me was britt from spoon coming out for the superjam. i've loved spoon for a while but haven't seen them live and i was toward the front and saw him side stage before he came out and i flipped when he did. he also had (arguably) the two best songs of the set. thought it was a pretty good superjam overall despite the time delay and that they're essentially karaoke sets anymore
sons of kemet was a top 5 set of the weekend for me. they seemed to really enjoy playing the fest and they were locked in the entire time
easily best japanese breakfast show i've seen out of three. it was clear to me that road experience and their dedication to their craft is really improving the band's music and live shows
bleachers was really good then me and my fiance and i ran over to catch the end of the chicks and saw them close with goodbye earl and that was fucking sweet.
100 gecs and marc rebillet were both pretty fun. not the best sets i've seen from either but they were still good and both late nights were awesome this year
all them witches melted face then i left because we were tired, i had work the next morning, and we weren't too concerned about the acts we were missing. leaving this year was the most emotional i'd ever been at bonnaroo surprisingly. i think the whole idea of going back to the "real world" hit harder after the global distress we've endured for the last couple of years. meeting some of you definitely made it harder too <3

i don't know if it's been written about here but we stopped by the surprise japanese breakfast acoustic set on friday and they had michelle and her violin player set up on a tiny ass impromptu stage with a couple of speakers facing the other stage WHILE SOMEONE WAS PLAYING. it would've been an ok thing if anyone could hear her over all of the wub wub wubs. not really sure why they planned that at all

Somebody download and save them for me for later when I'm home. That's an order

Tobe Nwigwe and Turnpike Troubadours (Thursday night Plaza 5) were musical highlights - both were gifts. From outside The That Tent...I think the number that saw Tobe's set was over 500.

I can’t believe I survived my first roo! I had a massive adrenaline rush during Stevie because I couldn’t believe I’d survived without any incidents or completely falling apart haha. I want to thank everyone I camped with and all the new faces I met during the week that helped me through it all.
My top three sets: 3) Arlo Parks. She had a really refreshing and energetic stage presence for someone who makes such soft music. I would die to be her best friend. Also, Tranter got the setlist!
2) Rezz. I’ve been dying to see her since I was 17 or so. I love every single thing she’s put out and I never knew I could dance for that long. Huge shoutout for Tony for being there with me and being just as excited, it really made the set even more enjoyable!
1) Puscifier! This one was such a big surprise for me, didn’t know any songs but got into the pit with tranter anyways. The music was good as shit but the performance was also hilarious and fun to watch. I would give anything to see them again.
Despite all the struggles and being a little angerey in the heat every night was filled with so much fun. Meeting all of you guys was kind of like a little surprise treat every time we ran into someone. I hope I’ll get to go back to the farm soon!

A lot of people bitched beforehand about the fun camp names disappearing, but I'll be damned if the alphanumeric system didn't make it a hundred times easier to figure out where campsites were

I never knew where I was (by camp name) at any of my Bonnaroo’s.
