Hey browell, which of the Moore Kismet sets did you see? Also what did you think (obviously you liked it making top sets but otherwise)No chance I could get to either one of the Roo sets and I already only saw a short portion of his Buku set so I feel bad for mostly missing all 3 chances.

i only saw their set at The Other unfortunately
i’m a bit biased because i’ve loved them for probably over a year now but it was super solid for a smaller, midday EDM set
was just a whole mixed bag of stuff with throwing around some originals, a couple Flume mixes, some harder shit, and finished up with a mix of Promises by Nero
super good energy and just felt excited to be there. crowd was super thin at first as i walked right up to the rail maybe 5-10 minutes before. their debut album comes out Friday and i’ve enjoyed the singles so far! absolutely nuts they’re only 17 tbh

Damn they played Promises by Nero? Kinda sad I missed that.

yep! i believe i have a little video of it, i’ll shoot it to you on twitter!
Had an awesome weekend, was great to be back for the first time since 2016. Special thanks to my campmates, especially Cookin' Mama who basically allowed me to come straight from spain to bonnaroo with nothing and provide me with everything i needed to have a great weekend. It is pretty special to make more and stronger friendships through here that make every festival I go to even better regardless of a possibly mediocre lineup. wish we got to do more of brunch before running back across the festival to pick up the remnants of our storm destroyed campsite, but it was great to meet and hang with a bunch of you lovely people throughout the weekend anyway
favorite sets: Sons Of Kemet Tove Lo Disclosure - Tondo pit was my moment of the weekend. Goose Lane 8 Slowthai Tool The War On Drugs All Them Witches Tinashe - Haven't seen her mentioned but this set was incredible, felt like watching a major pop star in the making. Stevie Nicks - getting trashed and opening up the pit in the back of What for this was amazing.

Ok, now that I've been home and rested...
This year was an absolute blast. Going in, I was really curious how it would play out with the lineup being weaker than I would have liked. However every night I went to bed thinking "that was a great day of music."
Top 10 Sets of the weekend:
1. King Gizzard 2. Goose 3. Lane 8 4. slowthai 5. Sons of Kemet 6. Superjam 7. The War on Drugs 8. Billy Strings (would be higher, but I watched the start from the pit but wasn't allowed back in after I went to pee so I watched the rest from in front of my tent) 9. Stevie Nicks 10. Sparkle City Disco at WITW
Other thoughts (I was in VIP, for context):
The Good:
My double darkroom tent with AC and a queen bed. In my six previous Bonnaroos, I've had a tent five times and a campervan once. This year I went all in with the Darkroom tent with AC. I'm old. I'm a diva. Being able to sleep on a queen bed in a tent set to 69 (nice) degrees was a game changer for me. I also lucked out with my tent placement in VIP, as I was in the front row so I could see the arch right from my tent.
VIP Showers after Thursday. Showers got a big upgrade from previous years. First day they were either brutally cold or scalding hot, but come Friday they had been fixed.
The venders/bar workers: Had nothing but great interactions with all of the vendors and bar staff I came across.
The sound at the What Stage is incredible.
The Bad:
Jamtrak. I went out to Plaza 5 on Wednesday and Thursday, and on two occasions I passed the Jamtrak while walking. The lines looked bad. Just as my fear when it was announced, it looked to be good in theory but lousy in implementation.
The What Pit for headliners. Even with a lower attendance year, having only one pit entrance was a complete disaster. I figured I'd give the pit for Stevie Nicks a shot, so I showed up about 45 minutes before her scheduled set time. At that point there were two lines, one that went along the pit rail towards the crowd (terrible idea), and another that went at about a 45 degree angle towards the crowd (also terrible). There were also about 30 people just crowding between the two lines. Once the pit line opened, everybody just ran up to the front and crowded together, with no assistance from any of the staff. Not really caring if I was in the pit or not, I decided I would just do the right thing and go to the back of what had been determined to be the correct line (the one that went along the rail right into the crowd). I witnessed about 30 people jump the fence and not get turned back. All while one of the crowd control/security guys just stood there and watched it happen. A person in front of the line asked why we hadn't moved, and if it was because people were cutting the line (it was very obvious that was the case), and the guy just responded "it looks like it, that really sucks for you guys." I just yelled to him "if only there was a dedicated team put in place to prevent things like that from happening who were about 6'4" with brown hair and a blue vest" (describing him) and he didn't seem to like that too much. To conclude, the pit line was awful for the headliners. I feel bad for the people who went about getting in the pit the right way and didn't get in.
Lack of hand washing stations/sanitizer. This was something I expected would be greatly improved over previous years, not worsened.
The ugly:
Some of the security/third party workers. Overhead way too many inappropriate comments and looks from workers towards females.
Me going way too hard on Thursday, and missing brunch of Friday. I've never met most of you, and was really looking forward to it. I'm so sorry I didn't get a chance to meet many of you. Being woken up to that windstorm on Friday was pretty wild, though. RIP to my EZ UP.

Good to see you for a second at roo and know someone else is on the same energy to do that run of fests.

I read a couple celebrity sightings. Like I said, I saw Rebillet and dapped him off and told him some shit before the Superjam. And my friend was talking to this girl who ended up being Westside Gunn’s old lady. Anybody else?

This was definitely one of my favorite years. The ease of movement to different shows allowed me to see more bands. Everyone I met was friendly. Billy Strings blew me away. His acoustic solos were incredible. His Psychedelic twist was Legendary. I think I was standing behind Vieux at Still Woozy. Just outside the tent left.

This ended up being my 3rd favorite Roo out of 8. Our group did everything in our power to have a weekend we will remember forever despite the lineup and the heat. Gonna spoiler this hoe because as usual it’s obnoxiously long.
Lack of bathrooms in Centeroo was unbelievable. Feel like that still hasn’t been touched on enough. As many others have mentioned there were also no soap / sanitizer options outside of the few Porto bathrooms that were there. I took a few biblical, sweaty shits (Hattie Bs all weekend) in baking Portos and had to find a water station somewhere to get poop smell off my wiping hand. One time I even used the condensation on the outside of a Liquid Death can and considered that a W. It was not as bad in the campgrounds or if you could wait the permanent bathrooms lines which admittedly often looked longer than they were.
The single entrance issue is being way overhyped imo - with the huge exception of people in Groop and over in that area where the walk was bad. The line to get in was bad on Friday, mainly because the storm had to clear everyone out. Saturday and Sunday entry was simple as fuck and I snuck in an amount of alcohol that may have otherwise costed $400 - $500 over the weekend. Missed half of Tove Lo because of the 30 minute wait Friday but meh… not a big deal from Plaza 3.
@radiatebased brought up an interesting point that I agree with. The line being so short to enter bonnaroo on Wednesday was not a positive imo. Would I take it over the ‘19 7 hour wait? Every time. But I think seeing the cars on the side of the road and waiting an hour or two with anticipation in the air and then finally being set free into the campgrounds is a pretty cool part of the experience. It usually feels like “holy shit I’m about to be at the major event” whereas the entry process this year was kind of a wet fart. It screamed “this isn’t a legendary event you are at.”
The attendance, lineup quality and heat were my three biggest issues. And I think those three things combined to remove a good amount of the special Bonnaroo magic. Feel like I heard 3 people all weekend conversing about acts they were excited about or had seen. That’s sad. The crowds were also hit or miss this year. I’m usually one to confidently say almost all Bonnaroo crowds are better than any other fest crowds but this weekend I would say 55-65 percent of the crowds felt like true Roo crowds. And similar to the entry line thing, it’s just a little sad when artists are walking out to below average crowd sizes as opposed to potentially the biggest show of their life. I know some ppl don’t care about this at all but I do.
They scaled back the purple and pink lit up trees. They had all the trees that are inside Centeroo lit up, but in 18-19 the entire treeline surrounding Centeroo was colorful. It was awesome and I never took it for granted and notice the absence now.
I was the first person at Roo 22 to land in the medical tent due to drinking. Definitely a bummer because I love Bonnaroo wednesday more than anything.
Main Positive: Our squad. Almost a completely fresh camping group for me with most everyone being inforoo peeps. So many laughs and running jokes throughout the weekend and doing Roo for the first time with all of them (Cookin Mama, Tristan, Todd, Tranter and Cum) was a fresh twist on the experience. Maddog was at camp enough to be a member of the camp as well which was great. He made a last minute decision to swing the trip and I’m so glad he did. And Tristan coming from Prima… i mean that’s just batshit. Then on top of that we were with Dan and his friends for many shows and they were probably the rowdiest group at Bonnaroo this year and that made for some really over the top moments. And then there was so many more that were core to my experience… Rummy, Rooloo, Teddy, Esteban, Jaz, Deto, Browell and Cinci, VC, SFA… all of Camp Inforoo. Probably forgot some but the crazy thing this year is that inforoo was so deep and there were so few people in the crowds that it would have been impossible to see a show alone. Every single time I arrived at a show alone Esteban would grab me or Id run into Deto, Dan, etc… We also all basically had the same schedules too which played into that.
Where in the Woods is fucking awesome… from what I remember. 2 stages in there now. It’s the coolest area of all Bonnaroo.
Who stage upgraded in a big way. Saw a few great shows there and will no longer be worried when an act I’m excited for has a set there.
Ditto Which stage. Sound was loud as fuck. Only complaint I heard all weekend was Flume. In fact, I’ll just go ahead and say the median sound was great all weekend. I used to really only love What Stage and That Tent.
Weval cancelling was a gut punch. I think if they were never on the lineup we would have had a great Thursday on our hands but having them drop just as the anticipation was building sucked hard. And the results were brutal. Just totally fucked around and watched some NBA finals and wandered aimlessly.
I’m kinda torn on what I’d want them to do with the electronic moving forward. Where in the woods is cooler than the other and works better for smaller crowds, but it’s a hike to get there. My instinct right now is that they should revert back to booking absolute trash on the other to help get ticket sales back up and then begin prioritizing WITW more and programming it with house / techno shit all weekend. If I can be greedy though I’d like that 3-6 other slot to be more of a toss up to where it’s possible we get something around as good as Lane 8 there every year.
Late nights were really strong and the 3-6 sets at the other will hopefully never go away. Turn that into an annual “who’s going to get that slot.”
One big win was Sunday being sneaky good and memorable. Tinashe > Tierra Whack was really great. Inforoo had to be approaching 25 deep at Herbie. Stevie ended up being a great booking in practice. They really found what they were trying to get at once they started the Petty / Elton John style sunday headliners. Sorta went off the rails with Billy Joel, but at this point I think a community sing along set is better than a Jam band or anything else that half the attendees are comfortable skipping. I think Jam headliners should be Friday or Sat with a strong, unrelated conflict moving forward.

I want a good lineup next year. trantsgiving mentioned that he thinks he’s gotten all that he can get out of Roo and that resonates with me. Give me one name each day that I wake up giddy about each morning. Love Disclosure but having them as my number 1 on paper and in practice is completely unacceptable. Either that or I’ll need to find a new twist to the experience. New members to the camping group or just something to change up the experience. Maybe even getting a RV would do the trick idk.
Wonderful, wonderful year overall. heard Rogan was in the TooL pit
Been debunked. Apparently he was at a UFC event far away. He just looks a lot like other people.
I did see a post on Reddit of John Cena in front of the arch midweek.
Family we camped next to were some serious tween theater kids, Them finding out our other neighbor was a young adult writer and into the same stuff was the most beautiful bonding I've ever seen at a fest. Kid knocked out a tooth at the fountain, and got inspiration for life. Best fest neighbors I've ever had.
I went Solo as well and had the best freakin time.
You and livesbydryshampoo were very (noticeably) missed at brunch. So was snowman but he popped by the next day. BTW, snowman, I have all the Olaf shirts that you left. I have pitney bowes and can mail to you with tracking if you would like. LOL
I am so bummed to have missed it - it felt like every natural force was against me! The power had been out here for two days before we got to Roo so I couldn’t make my chex mix. I figured I’d just pivot to beer and ice and that would be fine and we got our whole crew mobilized to head over to groop and then the storm started flipping EZ ups and we turned around. THEN I was like, ok, I will post on here and try to meet some people in person at Goose! But my phone was a paperweight every time we went to Centeroo. TL; DR: I am so sorry I lived up to my “maybe” RSVP reputation 🥹 This is not Ohio manners, please don’t let it reflect on my wholesome midwestern brethren. I hope y’all had a great time after the storm passed and I can make up for it my next visit to the Farm!
This post also makes my Bonnaroo sound sad but it was overwhelmingly a blast minus missing brunch and I will post about that in detail after my kids go to sleep tonight!!

was so fun hanging with you and your crew several times throughout the weekend!
following in my inforoo first impression reviews, Jortles never failed to give me a hug every time i saw him even though the first couple times i simply reached out to shake his hand or dap him up
the bee suit on friday was a fantastic outfit touch
I turned my maybe into an actual appearance, happy to help represent Ohio in your absence.
I read a couple celebrity sightings. Like I said, I saw Rebillet and dapped him off and told him some shit before the Superjam. And my friend was talking to this girl who ended up being Westside Gunn’s old lady. Anybody else?
I saw TV’s Pat Sajak, President Jimmy Carter, and the yellow Teletubby.
Top shows
1. Disclosure 2. Slowthai 3. Lane 8 4. Stevie Nicks 5. Japanese Breakfast 6. Sons of Kemet 7. Tool 8. Karina Rykman 9. Tinashe 10. Herbie Hancock
Top Moments
1. Stevie during Landslide, Edge and Goldust. It’s been mentioned how ridiculous our group was. 2. Tondo 3. Watching my brothers go apeshit at Lane 8 + Lane 8 drop in song “And we knew it was our time” at the end of the set / sunrise. Insane feeling. With my gf, brothers, rummy and Todd at that point 4. End of Tierra Whack simply puts on Champion by Kanye and our group goes bananas. Can’t overstate how much Dans / Durkles group can bring any normal moment up 3 notches. Kinda reminds me of how my group was in 14-16 when I was younger. 5. Jap Brekkie during The Body is a Blade. Combo of the music in the second half and her running photographs of her childhood for the visuals weirdly made me feel the way I felt the first time I saw the great Don Draper “Carousel” pitch scene from Mad Men. Very nostalgic feeling. 6. Silent Disco fuckery with Tristan, Todd my brother and GF 7. Denzel Curry I was uhhh in a good emotional spot. With Maddog, Todd, my bro and Deto. 8. Slowthai Barbie Girl. Dust flying everywhere and dancing madness. Total bonnaroo crowd. Put iii points crowd to shame and that crowd was perfectly great. This just looked like nobody gave a single fuck about it being a physically brutal weekend. 9. Seeing my gf have all the fun at Tinashe 10. Clearest Blue beat drop 11. War on Drugs under the pressure. 12. Sons of Kemet inforoo dance party
Complaining is more fun than celebrating sometimes, but despite the sun, the 2 people that book bonnaroo and the person who made the decision to fuck up the bathroom situation and reduce the lit up trees in Centeroo, I deepened my already great relationships significantly and feel like I took a couple other surface level friendships up a notch. And met cool people for the first time. You all know who you are. We have some photos during and after Stevie Nicks of the squad that I know I’ll get emotional looking at many years from now, and that’s what it’s all about.

I got a Jortles kiss and nibbled his ear in return. Thought it may escalate further
