Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The conversations are more noticeable at less energetic shows, so it is addressed in the statement. I have also been to other festivals and disagree with what you are saying anyways. I could go to any fest with the goal to find bad things about the crowds and find it easily anywhere. Talking is an epidemic at all fests. It's noticed more during lower energy shows. And again, the low attendance does play into things.
Still, no fest I've been to has had the top end potential of a Roo crowd at a high-energy show. But in a show that requires less rowdiness and more "respect" for the show in front of you, all bets are off. I think there's a variable where Roo crowds want unconventional shit to happen so they are like little bugs to a bug lamp when a ball if being popped by a fan or something. I probably wouldn't like a Roo crowd as much for a Beach House show as I would for a Danny Brown show.
That's fine, we'll have to agree to disagree. Also just to be clear, idk if you're implying it or not but I'm not out here looking for bad crowds. I did make sure to make mental notes of how the crowd was because I wanted to see how I thought the Roo crowd was compared to some other camping fests I went to this year. Roo was my only other camping fest I had done until now.
Speaking of crowds, did anybody go to J. Cole? I’m curious how big his crowd was. Actually I’m also not sure how big Tool’s crowd was, as I was relatively close, though not in the pit.

ehhhh I'm a little skeptical!!!
That's ok I think you're just making excuses for Bonnaroo and those crowds anyways
Finally getting around to my recap after a long misadventure getting home on Monday and sleeping/working all of yesterday. But this was the funnest Bonnaroo ever for me (I've been going since 2013). I was telling everyone on Friday night that this was the best night of my life because it legitimately was (I hadn't even taken the molly yet when I decided this). What made it so great was all of the inforooers there. I never would have dreamed I'd have such a large group of friends whose entire mission is to build each other up and make sure we are having the maximum amount of fun.
lolololol i love how earlier in the night i heard you say that ("this is the best night of my life!!") and i was like, "yeah i agree this is fucking amazing....i assume youre rolling too?" and you said you weren't, and--to be clear, i would've had an incredibleeee time at that lane 8 show even if 100% sober, but i found your response so wholesome haha.
and then the next day, i find out that later in the night when you were saying "seriously, BEST EVER," it was post consumption. made me chuckle. but also goes to show, it was amazing from the get go! it is either my first or second fave bonnaroo night, with the other being LCD friday night 2016.
and to the underlined part above - fuck yeah
p.s. i will get to my own recap soon y'all; i just can't really string together more than a handful of sentences right now before brain fog swooooshes in.
However I was rolling at the start of Lane 8 hahaha. But I already declared best night ever after King Gizz before I was rolling

My main beef with Liquid Death is that the water is shipped from Europe in those cans. I don't want to know how much energy it takes to get that to Bonnaroo. But I didn't buy any all weekend anyway, I just brought in an empty liter bottle of Zephyrhills.

Yeah. I went for the first 20 or so minutes. There were many thousand people there so it wasn’t empty though it wasn’t full either. Lots of people not on here love him and some told me they loved the show. I thought it was a pretty decent start, but I wasn’t missing King Gizzard. I’d say the chicks crowd was bigger
I sometimes speak to my friends during shows yeah, lol. I am far from a Crowd Talker that isn’t paying attention to the show and just blabbing on and on. I think the former is fine; the latter is what’s annoying IMO
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I think Stevie > Tool > J. Cole regarding headliners.
The Chicks had a big crowd but I was impressed by Clozee. Enormous crowd but we didn't know about the right side (which in most cases was empty at The Other)

I wanted to say right side other was the move but really walking forward in any direction was an equally good move for 95% of shows

Memorable and positive aspect of this year for me. I never didn’t at least had some room. I was at side/screen near rail for any show I wanted to go up for. I crossed through Which and What crowds multiple times and never bumped into or stepped on anyone. There was always room a few feet away if you wanted less crowdedness. I was super happy with the sizes at the shows. I’ve been in the middle of every sized crowd and I’ll always take more breathing room over shoulder to shoulder to shoulder. I certainly understand those less claustro than me who want to be in a crush for the wildness. Btw if I didn’t send you enough love this weekend, you know it’s there. Love me some jortles. It was great seeing you again.

IMO saying anything more than "I love this song" or "I love you" in the opening seconds of a song means you a chomper.
fair enough.
Fwiw, my opinion on this varies considerably between festival decorum vs something like a small indoor venue concert. I do NOT talk during those, unless over by the bar or to say a quick word in between songs.
But at a festival where I’m with friends I don’t get to see often & we might flit off to different sets after that, and the vibe of the show is a little more chill (especially if the crowd is spread out so people can easily shift around if wanting to be around Absolutely No Talking)—yeah that’s a scenario I think it’s fine in.
Idk why I’m overly explaining this though haha. Different strokes different folks. I think we can ALL agree, however, that people who super loudly yell back and forth during a show without even paying attention to the music deserve to be smited.

No need to explain, I have no doubt you are perfectly lovely to see live music with. 🤗

I can’t have a conversation during a show. I literally can’t because I can’t hear you. If you’ve been to a show with me you you’ve probably figured this out.
I want someone to tell me how The Chicks and J Cole's crowd compared
Undoubtedly The Chicks was the sing-a-long show of the weekend and I couldn’t have enjoyed it less. But I’ve hated their music since I first heard it. When the wife wants to go you just shut up and try to make the best of it.
My wife and I also must’ve been at another Superjam ‘cause we both walked away rather “meh” on it. Some strong moments fer sure: CRJ was on point, Japanese Breakfast was great, and the song selections were pretty on the nose. But overall it was so weak! Openin’ with “Jump” should’ve been a great start, but that kid had no energy to sing that song. Totally took the wind outta my sails after a 45 minute late start. Fer as much shit as the ‘80s SJ a few years back got, I’m just surprised that this was the same thing but now it’s cool? And the arrangement fer “When Doves Cry” was great, and Blu DeTiger can sing well…just apparently not that song. Just really felt like a karaoke show.
Saw 20 minutes of Tool ‘cause I was that bored, then stayed bored so I made my way to King Gizz who were great! Only managed a few minutes of Goose ‘cause I was just exhausted. Same deal with Marc Rebillet. Stevie was the only HLer I saw, and she was just fine. The Shannon and The Clams ser in Plaza 7 was a blast! No fireworks at the very end showed how much they really cut the budget.
Everyone’s already touched on the dumbest shit they did: one CenteROO entrance, only one way out after Stevie, only one way off the damn farmland Monday mornin’, lack of ice, etc.
All said and done, the weekend was a blast all thanks to my InfoRoo friends! They’ve got a lot of shit to fix if I’m to come back again though.
