a few artists have been there in different iterations of groups - galactic and bela fleck for sure. Les claypool probably takes the cake for being there with the most bands though: primus, solo, bucket of bernie brains, clayool + gabby lala, claypool-lennon delirium, and a superjam with gogol bordello
I liked the idea of an artist in residence - someone who was at the farm just to collab and guest with people. They only did it in 2005 though with herbie hancock. I don't think anything like that will ever happen again.
I also think they should bring back more artist interaction stuff at the sonic stage. They used to have acoustic sets from artists on the lineup and you could buy CD's or vinyl and get them signed and stuff. usually smaller acts but still a cool thing that has kinda gone to the wayside.
you forgot to add Oysterhead too. But I agree I always heard Les be called the Mayor of Bonnaroo or something like that. He should have residency for sure

David Byrne curated a stage in 2009 with Ami DiFranco, St Vincent, Santigold, and a few others.
You used to be able to count on MMJ, Warren Haynes. Les Claypool, & Trey Anastasio most years. That was fun.

Eugene Hutz also curated a tent in 2011. It was awesome and ending with a Gogol Bordello set that went all night.

yeah, the curated stages were pretty good. 2009 also had a tent all devoted to african music. femi kuti, viux fark toure, amadou and mariam. ozomatli did a latino alternativo tent in 2010.
i think gogol bordello did someting in 2011 too.
2005 also had the somethin' else tent that was all new orleans jazz bands.
Awesome, let's put them all on an anti cancel culture themed stage on Sunday. Shit will be lit plus we get to fight against wokeness. All proceeds go to support Russia in their fight against Nazis or something in Ukraine.

I heard we are going to have to call a number to get each artists time slot, no stage names though. They said that’s part of the magic, the community putting it together. I don’t have the number yet though, heard it’s on the private forums , I think they are dropping the number on a socials at 12 CST today though….fingers crossed
So last year they made a tease of the schedule release on Tuesday, August 10th and then it dropped on Thursday, August 12th. That was three weeks before it would have started.
If they're going by last year's promo schedule, that would mean we get it next week. However last year it seemed like the COVID precaution comms took priority, they published that right before teasing the schedule release two days later.
Seems like if we don't get a tease today, we're going to wait another week for it.
at 2018 eaux claires there wasn't an official lineup until the first day of the festival and leading up to it there were basically roo clues that hinted at who was going to be there. crazy part was bon iver didn't even play
