It's been such a trip seeing her blow up like this. We went to high school together and hung out at a couple festivals before she blew the fuck up. Haven't seen her in years, but will be crazy to see her play for a massive crowd at Coachella.

I don't think you need to avoid rap and R&B conflicting with each other - just with the hip-hop headliner. They used to never have hip-hop acts conflict when hip-hop was rarer and the lineups were rock and indie heavy, but there's no way around it now in the same way that all the indie acts conflicted with each other in 2013. (Wasn't it Hot Chip vs Yeasayer vs Grizzly bear at one point?)
Sunday 2018 for example had Migos vs Kamaiyah, French Montana vs Jidenna vs 6lack, Def Loaf vs Russ vs Amine, etc

Now where to put Vince is hard cause I want him on the outdoor because he’s done main and Sahara.

Based on that New Yorker piece about the 2017 lineup release, Paul has a spreadsheet of acts already slotted into their stages and general timeframes when the lineup is released.
Obviously with Harry instead of Rage, much might end up being moved around. But the big acts who need a certain size stage, have pre-negotiated "night" or "closing a stage", etc might not be. So it might also be worth thinking about who might have been counter programming for Rage as a clue, not just who might be against Harry.
And I believe black coffee was not on that Yuma list 2020 meaning hes outside of it. Ideally Sahara even though Mojave was so fun

I agree it looks light if we remove Black Coffee at this point. If we keep moving people out of the Yuma then I could see them shutting it down against SHM which would suck.

There’s only 2 90 min sets and 2 75 min sets. I’m sure you can extend someone in there. (Yuma isn’t my expertise so I don’t know who is more likely to have a long set)

I’m unaware with how big Joji is. I like him but I don’t see know his public cache (minus the vinyl community) I just would love to see Jamie at sunset, I never get a DJ I want on Main stage sunset Sunday lol
just to start a conversation, while I could totally see CRJ on the Main Stage around when we have her, if it were up to me personally (as in if I were organizing the fest, not the set times predictions), that isn't where I would put her. When I saw her at Outside Lands, half the crowd didn't know any of her songs and after she played Call Me Maybe about 2/3rds of the way through the set, there was an enormous mass exodus, to the point where it was legit distracting for 5-10 minutes trying to keep watching the show while people were filing out all around me. She was still killer but it definitely detracted from the experience.
what are people's thoughts on the possibility of her closing a tent after Harry Styles? I don't think it would be all that bad for her to conflict with SHM and it would honestly do her crowd a huge service by drawing away all the people who aren't dedicated (pun intended) fans. I won't claim to know what CRJ would prefer, but I kinda think it would make sense from her perspective too, getting to play a show to her diehard fanbase (which she ~will~ undoubtedly pull, no matter where she is) without having to deal with the typical pitfalls of having a massive crowd that's there solely to see That One Song far bigger than the rest of her discography.
again it's not unreasonable to put her on the main stage, but I'd be so much more excited for that show if she was closing the Gobi or the Mojave. no way she's at the same time as Harry obviously, but the popheads (who I don't think are necessarily a perfect overlap with SHM's crowd) might want a place to go after his show, and CRJ would be a perfect option.

Joji is pretty much the embodiment of the "focus on gen z" everyone complaining about the lineup is talking about on the bill. Joji is freaking huge with zoomies. Ballads 1 was half my tik tok feed in 2020.
Id be astonished if he wasnt closing out a stage. Id estimate his crowd draw to be probably 6x that of Jamie xx and maybe 80%-85% that of Doja Cat.
