What I would love to see is Coachella booking Black Hippy as a headliner as a proper send off for Kendrick leaving TDE.
Especially since Jay Rock, Soulo, and ScHoolboy are all supposed to drop this year. (SZA too but she's not Black Hippy). Should be the big comeback for TDE this year

Is his contract fully over at album release? I thought they'd have him at least through the tour off of the album. Hm if so then yeah it's a stretch, but their friendships should be strong enough to work out a show together if it's something they want to do. I have a hard time seeing them choose to not do a final thing together whether it's at their Christmas event in Watts, a one off LA show, or a big event like Coachella. At least something with the original 4 members

Honestly I would just look at him as PGLang from here on out. He may collab with them still but he has no more stock in making the TDE brand bigger. He did his part now he’s building his own thing. If he goes on tour it will be with baby Keem, PgLang artist, not anyone from TDE.

I don't think he'd do another TDE tour like the Championship tour, I just feel like he'd do some type of special one off show with his Black Hippy guys. And not for the purpose of growing TDE, but just out of love and respect for their come up together.
Lol I'd be genuinely surprised if it doesn't happen within the next year or two. (Not specifically at Coachella) but in general. An LA show or their holiday community Watts show would be more likely

I mean maybe he shows up at the TDE Watts thing but I would bet good money there will not a paid concert with Kendrick and another TDE member for at least 5 years. I also think this album will continue the streak and be the 3rd album without a TDE feature
black hippy would be cool but not a lot of people would care at all about jay rock + ab-soul in that crowd.
I saw the championship tour back in 2018 and people were clearly there for SZA and Kendrick (+ schoolboy q but to a lesser extent)
I heard they only let Ab-Soul play one song on the Championship Tour? Pretty messed up, always feels like they slight him, I wonder if it's because he's the only one not on a major label. I get he's the least mainstream but he def has a good following. His DWTW tour was amazing. Doesn't help that he hasn't dropped in almost 6 years though lol
But yeah, if it was a Coachella headliner set then Ab-Soul would likely not have a song be recognized. Jay Rock would for King's Dead and WIN but that's probably it.
As much as I'd like to see it.. yeah Coachella probably isn't the best place for it lol. An LA thing would be much better for Rock and Soulo. Also a better environment to play the deep cut collabs they have and all the old Black Hippy stuff. Coachella might react to Vice City and that's it.

i'm sure it's been asked but how/when is pre-sale? i'm guessing they aren't "a lot" cheaper but already decided we're heading back for round 2 next year

they wont be discounted at all, but at least you can do the payment plan. If the tiered prices come back again at least getting them during presale should get you in tier 1.

yeah, that does seem on brand for Coachella lately. gotta sneak those price increases in somehow!
