Should we assume theyll do a SHM type of announce again? Lets assume they keep up the "returning to the desert" theme and they reveal a name that way in the next few months. Nobody was expecting that sort of thing.
Would assume it's just Frank confirmation.. another returning to the desert thing would be cool, which I guess is basically a coheadliner without sharing name space. Don't know who would be in the running for that type of thing? Would assume it'd be another light headliner/strong sub type of act like SHM? Or a legacy act or a reunion? I personally feel like that type of placement is perfect for a legacy/older act.

Its only been 5 years. SHM hadnt been at the fest since 2012. The Chems have a better shot at that slot for not having been there since 2011. Even The Mars Volta will not have played at Coachella in 20 years.

I know they played All Points East in the UK in 2018, and GV handled their 2019 US shows, but not sure about other festivals. I’d say given how much coachella 2022-portola crossover there is there’s a reasonable chance they got booked for next year but honestly, feels like a crapshoot at best.
