Fuck yea! Been dying to see them play b2b for a long time.
so it's get real?
I saw them for a little bit on NYE in Chicago, maybe it was just that night but they didn't seem nearly as fun as I anticipated them being. I was really excited after I listened to a couple of recordings I found online. That's not to say they were shit or anything, there were a couple of times my girlfriend and I were ready to head back over to Skrillex, but then we were like "after this song" lol.
Also, I feel like this is an okay thread to ask this, can you people help me find out more "techno" acts that I might enjoy? I used quotes because I'm horrible at defining music genres. I saw Gesaffelstein on Halloween (along with Shiba San, who I'll actually be seeing again on Valentines Day) and it was my second favorite show of the year, so much fun oh my god. I'm trying to get out and see more shows like that (why I've been interested in finding out more about Modeselektor, think I'm going to see them too, they seem like a lot of fun). I have no idea where to start. I generally like a lot of the music Phyre Fest posts. I loved Richie Hawtin's album that just recently came out. Basically I just want suggestions lol they can come from anyone.
This was my favorite song they played, my girlfriend and I will always start randomly singing "Let's go dancing, I wanna go dancing with you all night dancing"

Get Real isn't that great live. Claude VonStroke has really fallen off the last couple of years, and Green Velvet is a "seen him once, seen him all the times" kinda act.
I'm far from the best person to ask around here, but some of my favorites are soulwax, Tiga, Boys Noize, rex the dog, lindstrom, Jeff Mills, Sebastian.

Top hopes: The Chemical Brothers (although doubt they'd be there if Kraftwerk is there), Bicep, Jamie xx, Four Tet, Maceo Plex, Todd Terje, Detroit Swindle, Floating Points, Dixon, Ben UFO, The Black Madonna, Black Coffee, Maribou State, Fort Romeau, Bob Moses, John Talabot, KiNK, Kolsch, DJ Koze, Joy Orbison, Ben Klock, Nicolas Jaar, Jon Hopkins, Maya Jane Coles, DJ Dodger Stadium...too many to consider really.
I'd say so. Though there are no "VIP pits" in front of the stages. However, the entire "backstage" area behind the main stage, including trees and grass for lounging, is for VIP. Along with a massive VIP tent with your own bar, bathrooms, seating, and massages.

I can't stress enough to anyone debating going to this how amazing this festival is. The festival alone is only a small part of the entire weekend. Late night shows tend to run well into the next day giving you 4 full days of nonstop shows.
Not to mention Detroit is super cool, and there's tons of casinos if that's your thing (its mine, unfortunately).
