I’m voting Burger King. When it’s good, it can be good, but the BK experiences I’ve had have been consistently bad for a number of years. I’d probably be voting McDonald’s, but I truly love an Egg McMuffin from time to time. Or Dairy Queen, which I haven’t eaten at in forever, but they used to have a kiwi strawberry something that I got pretty often and always enjoyed. I think I stopped getting them after I got one with giant chunks of Oreo in it, which wasn’t the fault of Dairy Queen generally, just one bad one. Also, it looks so far like BK is a more likely option to go than DQ. I’m open to switching between those two though.

BK is my vote this round.
calling out my wife here but when she was still drinking she would go get a whopper from BK that night, throw it in the fridge, and eat it in the morning. cold whoppers and orange juice were part of some bizarre hangover cure she had.

#20: Long John Silver's #19: White Castle/Krystal #18: Hardee's/Carl's Jr
I'm going to try an experiment and order from each of these places as they are eliminated. I already had LGS last night (and it was pretty good considering I haven't had it in forever). White Castle/Krystal is no where near me, so I think I'll have a California Classic and an order of onion rings from Carl's today.
the streak and egg breakfast burrito is also pretty delicious but I missed the breakfast window.

the truth is real alcoholics like my wife and i engaged in some heinous shit during active addiction. but clearly her bottom was lower than mine because i never ate cold whoppers and orange juice. luckily i'm able to look past her actions and see the beauty within. these days she only eats regular food like a human.

imo the burgers are legit good. to me they are the platonic ideal of the fast food burger. they are the right size, easy to eat, and taste pretty good.
the menu itself is a wild mess though. i first ate at a cookout in charlotte after a phish show and could not figure out what was going on. i still remember my buddy not being able to wrap his head around a corndog being a side item included in a combo and just staring at the cookout guy.

Our story is very similar. We also discovered Cook Out after a show at that Ampitheater. Maybe Radiohead? And I got so overwhelmed trying to order that we got out of line and got back in with her ordering.

Cookout food is solid. Nothing elite but its a nice B+ fast food meal that's elevated to A tier when you factor in the price and the hours
