stlallison and I were talking about this - I always try and do at least a 50/50 gender balance for every draft I do but this is the first time I haven’t been successful!
A lot of the early/mid 00s fest lineups that had the objectively best names on them sold pretty poorly and in retrospect it is glaringly obvious it was because they were almost uniformly male and white. Back in the day "alternative" was often a proxy for "white male" and "rap which doesn't threaten me".
And to be clear - I think that wasn't out of racial or gender animus, just short-sightedness.

idk where in the crowd you were but that set was awful from the back. This pick was going for the double whammy of both bad and cancelled
I was actually super excited for this set and got close on stage right, but I was solo and of course a single lady can't enjoy a set without being hit on. This dude was pushing it so hard I had to leave 30 minutes into it just to get away from him.

it simply isn't possible. like, looking back through old lineups there were days where there was at most a single female act.
hell, when Stevie Nicks takes the stage in June it'll be the first time Bonnaroo has ever had a female headlining act.
