You're going to have to give our boy a minute to process. I hate this just bc we had to sit through all the goddamn news about it at the end of the season. Now, we're going to have to do the entire thing again. So bothersome.

I really hope that he falls off a cliff. Skill-wise.

Something in me knew he wasn't completely done but I'm surprised it was so soon lol. I agree Dave, the media will be insufferable. Not to mention if he gets back to the Super Bowl. "This time last year Tom Brady was a retired man and now here he is at 45 on top of the game again"
Tom Brady hate is really funny to me. Same as LeBron.
"No! You're too good at this sport I watch! Be less good!"
I really don't even mind him that much. I feel like he's easily the best quarterback of the modern era. I'm just annoyed at the multiple retirement tours.
Haha. I have no hate for Brady. He’s probably not getting another title, but if so, we will kick that ass along the way. He’s probably coming back because he’s desperate to beat the Saints.

This is so hilarious. All my Viking fan friends hate Kurt Cousins. Going from potential trade and a reset to an extension and back to fighting for a 9-8 record for 2 more seasons.

At least they lowered his cap this year with the two voidable years but they're going to have to pay that dead cap at some point.
I don't think they had a choice really, once they couldn't land Rodgers/Wilson the only option is Watson and he seemed to not want to go there and also no one should in theory want him
I sort of thought they'd trade him and get someone like Jimmy G but that's not exactly an upgrade, no one in this draft is worth throwing the sink at, idk weird position but you gotta take advantage of dalvins prime and have someone better than average w Jefferson and Theilan
The problem is they’re resigning themselves to the “muddled middle” in the NFC by extending Kurt. They’ll never surpass Rodgers while he continues to play and Kurt will never win a Super Bowl. They needed to eat it this year and clean up their cap and stock up on picks so they could have their rebuilt well underway when Rodgers retires or gets traded in the next couple years and opens up the NFC North.
in his time in Minnesota he's the best rated QB they've ever had, 4th in yds, td, wins (better win % than Dante and Kramer (who the fuck is that?), first in rating and completion %
80 more tds than favre w only 10 more interceptions

haha. This is arguably one of the worst takes I’ve ever seen. I’m not even a Vikings fans and this is bad. Fran Tarkenton is in the fucking HOF. He’s their best QB of all time. And no mention of Randall Cunningham or Warren Moon. And Favre led them to an NFC title game and some career ending concussions from esteban’s Saints. Jeesh
Cherry-picking modern QB statistics and comparing them against different generations is just gross. Any modern QB would compare more favorably to historical QBs. None of the statistics above show anything about Kurt Cousins that’s really relevant.
Passer Rating. Garbage stat. By your usage, Kurt Cousins is better than basically every HOF QB because he has a better passer rating.
And it’s not impressive having the “4th most” of a stat when you’ve started the “4th most” games all time for a team when said statistics are also inflated for your era.
Further, Kramer, Culpepper, and Cousins were all basically .500 QBs. Claiming Cousins was “better” is the ultimate cherry-picked statistic. Literally, it’s like .475 vs. .490 vs. .500. But if Kurt Cousins was such a badass winning QB for the Vikings like you are implying, how come he’s 18th all time in QB winning percentage for the team? Or that he’s T-7th in all time playoff wins with 1. Hasn’t he started the 4th most games though?

The fuck? Randall Cunningham was a missed Morton Anderson field goal away from taking their best team ( record wise ) to the super bowl with a rookie Randy Moss in tow. Cousins even get to the NFC title game? Cause they got there with Case Keenum 4 years ago last I checked with no Cousins in sight. Dont know how a qb with a lifetime 1-3 playoff record is seen as their best, the postseason results are not there to compliment the numbers.
This is what the best qb for the vikings can muster? I think he wins at hustling a team for money just for mediocrity cause they dont have a choice.
Lol. I don’t remember him getting a concussion, but I do remember the bruises all over him. I didn’t necessarily like the lack of respect for a Saints fan QB even though he was a Viking. Kramer succeeded Wade Wilson - and we ended up with both of them late in their careers.
