How did everyone feel about the new rules? I thought they added a cool spark to the game. One little question I brought up to the dead thread is, what should happen if maf mid day whacked on say day 4 with 2 mafia left? That would leave 2 town and 2 maf. Would maf just outright win in this scenario?

they both were used pretty early so I didn’t really get too much of a feel for it, town definitely benefited from Maddog using that guess early though. The early whack definitely seems more powerful the later it’s used
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I almost feel like in the rules it should have to be used pre D4. Feels OP to just save it until then.

Imagine the game where it was saved until d4 AND there were 2 maf left. I almost can't comprehend those circumstances. I think it's much ado about nothing, honestly.

They’re edge cases for sure. The scenario also happens potentially on day 3 with 3 maf left. Guess the actual question is should maf be able to win outright with a midday whack?

imo there's two ways to look at it
Player X - 2 (mafia, town) Player Y - 2 (mafia, town)
or
Player X - 2 (mafia, mafia) Player Y - 2 (town, town)
obviously it's easy to get from A to B and hit a full stalemate but there's wiggle room for town to fuck up/make the right call, or mafia to try to distance if the game can't end in a tie
if player X and y are both town and neither mafia can be added to the run off then it's an outright win, but that already happens if there's 5 players w 2 mafia left

Even if mafia can take advantage of it at the end, town has a huge advantage if inspector makes to round two.
-Known name - 2 players gone from whack and exile. - night one guess.
So inspector could lay low for a bit of round 2 and make their mid-round guess with two known roles. Plus a narrowed down field of 6 players. Unless their night 1 guess is whacked then it’s 7.

Ya the game could technically continue if a mafia distances but otherwise it’s impossible to exile a maf in the scenario. They can either force a stalemate or a townie has to exile a town as long as they switch as long as there’s no distancing. It’s essentially a win unless they purposely shoot themselves in the foot.

Not bad. Just 5 or 6 unknown roles in round 2.
Ya this makes sense. Maf being able to win outright in theory is balanced out with the inspector being stronger earlier

If we get to 2-2 on D4 where two town are on maf and vice versa, call it a draw. And I will definitely be using King Solomon references in that situation to ferret out the truth.
