When I think of video games, I don’t think of Pokemom. I always assumed it was the cards, TV/movie, merchandise… with some video games put out just because they knew they would sell.
Are the pokemon video games good?
They are, but if you play one of them, you've pretty much played all of them. I think Sun/Moon for 3DS was my favorite just because it tried doing something different, but then they just went back to the old formula again afterwards. And it's the reason I think it's Pokemon's time to go in this poll.
Every other series left in this game has done a ton to innovate between entries. Pokemon Sword is almost identical to a game that came out 25 years earlier.
eh, idk that there's a world of difference between GTA 3 and 5 aside from graphics and some physics in driving, most of which is driven by upgrade in console hardware

Okay. How is Pokemon losing? It does get repetitive if you've played it for this long (red, gold, ruby,...) and the last versions aren't as difficult anymore (sun, sword,..) BUT there isn't anything like it out there and is still one of the better selling games in the world.
Out of this list, FF should be the one that y'all pick. It did not evolve well over the years.
Mario, Zelda, Pokémon and GTA are classics. I don't consider Final Fantasy on the same level.
I remember playing FF every year since PS1, but I never got excited about a new one. What version are they on now? 25?
I just can't start comparing Pokemon, Mario, Zelda with a franchise like FF. GTA makes this difficult too, but I think most people would agree GTA >>> Final Fantasy.

I will say FF will definitely be my next vote, as it's had the biggest quality slide here while everything else has remained pretty consistent. Granted, I also haven't played any Final Fantasy game that's come out in the last 15 years, but I felt the decline begin before then too.

Idk. XII (2006) and XIV Online (2010) are some of the most acclaimed Final Fantasy games. So are IX (2000) and X (2001), so I'd disagree that there was some major quality drop off over the past two decades/post-90s. XV wasn't great. The main issue is they've only put one out since 2010. Hopefully XVI is rad.

If we get deep into spin-offs, pretty much anything besides Zelda and GTA will look like trash, and that's primarily because those two just don't have as many spin-offs. (Four Swords totally needs to come back, though! I feel it would thrive much better these days with an online component.) Mario Kart is great, the Mario RPG's used to be great, and everything else in the Mario spin-off world is very hit-or-miss.
