Oh and I’ll come back later with more details but short version is my wife and I hung out with one of the guys who oversees ticket sales for about 20 minutes. He said this is easily the most W2 tickets they have sold in the past several - he said it outsold 2022, 2019, even Beyoncé year. They are thrilled with how many they sold. They were leaning tickets up because they just don’t care if it looks sold out or not anymore.
So I think all the hand wringing about low demand this year was wasted energy lol because they are celebrating.
And this is definitely the most crowded W2 I’ve ever been to, it is ducking packed. Not in a bad way Labrinth aside.

Any insight into why Weekend 2 sold so well? Weekend 1 felt as busy was previous weekend 1's felt in 2017, 2018, and 2019, so I immediately knew the conspiracy theories of soft sales were unfounded. I still think the three original headliners were the strongest the festival has had in a long time.

He didn’t say why. Just that demand this year was through the roof from their end.
He actually said something wild about the festivals sales that I am not sure he was supposed to have told me. If we talk on this thing a lot PM me and I’ll try to answer when I’m back home tomorrow.

I had had heard from one of my friends that works with box office and artist management that they had gotten to 90% sold this week. They still need to address the camping and outside lodging issue though.

Great day yesterday. boygenius by far my fave set, also loved Ethel Cain, Rosalia and Underworld. Labrinth seemed awesome but from way far back, could get into tent. Blackpink, Charli thats not for me I guess. Gave a try with Despacio but I guess you need to invest a few hours into that. Came in after Ethel, felt super weird, 37 people in there, tried for 10 mins and left. Overall great day.
For anyone that has braved the merch line either weekend, do they have a Despacio shirt for sale? I saw someone wearing one at some point yesterday but it might have been old.
Forgot to post I found it in the big merch store. It’s on the left side.
Ok in a much better mood lol. Was in my feels about the Labrinth disaster but nothing day drinking couldn’t fix. This has been such an unbelievable Coachella, so excited!

If this festival really manages to sell out W1 and comes at around 90% of W2, thats such a major major success. Nobody comes close to that today, thats over 200k tickets starting at 600$. Crazy.

It is…much wilder than that, hence the thing I don’t think he was supposed to say. You would not believe how much money they are making off this thing
EDIT: but 90% is what I was told for W2 also so that’s one thing Supre isn’t making up.

After returning to Coachella and falling in love once again, I have no desire to revisit most festivals nor check out new festivals in the US. Internationally, sure, would love to explore Dekmantel, Sonar, Primavera, and some others for the first time. But for me, Coachella firmly holds the gold crown. Nothing else compares on its scale. The only other festival I'm sworn to is Sustain-Release, but that's almost a different thing entirely.
Then to ethal Cain who was great..until some people who are friends of a friend came along and thought it would be a vibe to chat alllllll the way through it. So we just chilled at Sahara beer garden and watched elderbrook who I never heard of and bit knew so many of the songs.
Then Rosalia who was unbelievable. True star. I dipped a bit early because the crowd was getting a bit too tight around me. Did a bit of Yaeji who gave me some arca bjork vibes.
Boy genius tho...what a fucking show. My and guys were in tears half the time. Tight band, great staging and the chemistry on stage was unlike anything. They gave either their moments and it was beautiful.
I loned it to Underworld and saw god. I raved my knees off. May have been a better show since the last time they played.
My friends went to Nia Archives so I joined them and again, blown away. Running theme this weekend so far is how the UK is representing hard this year.
Again, perfect day.
Can't wait for more. I'll be wearing a black Suede shirt from their latest tour...crying a bjork with the bros
