This is a kind of a combination of other threads but I noticed the Tell Us About New Music one is mostly posts of new songs, upcoming release dates, ect. Not too much talking about new releases. And the Album of the Month thread mostly focuses on that specific month with some input about the albums every once in a while. Figured a thread dedicated to talking about/rating/reviewing new albums would be good. Give a rating of the album, favorite song, or whatever. Be as brief or as long-winded as you want.
I'll probably start with new releases each week and maybe work my way back to previous releases this year if I have time. Starting with a couple of new releases from last week.
Spiritualized - Everything Was Beautiful Thought this was a solid effort overall. Not my favorite album of theirs by any means but it was on par with other albums. They didn't change very much with their style (which is a good thing imo) so it's one of those albums where if you like them already, you'll probably enjoy it and if you don't, there's nothing new that will win you over. Even though the songs were long, the album still seemed a little short with only 7 tracks. Favorite Song: Crazy Rating: 7.5/10
Pusha T - It's Almost Dry I like Push but wasn't sure what to expect with Kanye and Pharrell each producing half the album. Kanye has been hit or miss over the past few years for me, and personally was never a big fan of Pharrell's style. But I was pleasantly surprised with this. Most of the beats were great for my preferences and lyrically Push did what he does. Pretty dope all in all. Favorite Song: Diet Coke Rating: 8/10
