Too many notes, too many syllables. Hate from the black community and endlessly getting booed at the BET Awards for being too white eventually forcing her to adjust her dialect to "my baby bobby." Yeah, she could act and sing pretty well. But GTFOOH.
Madonna. She makes me want to drink beer. She makes me wanna drive real fast and go bowling. She makes me wanna shop at Sears. She makes me wanna kick vegetarians. When I hear her sing, I know she's singing to me. She wants to get nasty with me. When I see her face, when I see her eyes, when I see her lips talking to me, telling me to "come on" I get to feelin' real mean. I get to feeling like I wanna do a whole lotta push-ups or go to a hardware store. And then, I have to cool down, man. I have to cool down. And it's either gonna be a cold shower or a Bruce Springsteen album.

What in the spoken word poem is this?

90's Madonna is nothing to wag your finger at either. Ray of Light is her best album by a lot and Erotica is good too. I prefer her 90s stuff overall tbh.
Madonna's run from '83 until like '05 is under appreciated. Hopefully one day she realizes she's old and goes into legacy/greatest hits mode.
I'm looking to protect her here since she's a creator rather than just a performer. She's not the greatest anything, but she's better than most of the rest. In Lionel's defense, I personally like The Commodores - Easy Like Sunday Morning, Brick House and of course the old stand-by's Three Times a Lady and Sail On, honey. Good times never felt so good...
Had McDonna or Whitney been available for the take-out, I would have gone in that direction. I have it Prince > Stevie > Lionel > Madonna > Whitney. Prince and Stevie belong in the Top 5 out of this group. Lionel is borderline.

In the Defiant Ones (I think that's what it's from anyway) Tom Petty said Stevie Nicks came to him and said "I'd like you to write a song for me" and he said "well I'd like to write a song for me but it's really not that easy". Thought that was pretty funny.

Yah she misheard him say that he met his wife “at the edge of seventeen” but he really said “age”.

My cousin got married back in 2012 and after their first dance, they played this song and said "EVERYONE ON THE DANCE FLOOR". I always think about that joyous moment when I hear this song, and I never get sick of it.
I am that oddball who loathes Weird Al. I just don’t get his stuff. 🥸
Middle of the road here. I find some of it to be funny and much of it to be stupid. Obviously Smells Like Nirvana was great, and if you've never heard it before, do check out Baby Got Jack which is a funny ass white parody of Baby Got Back. That one is a little under the radar but is probably one of his best songs.
