1) “Only "active" or potentially active acts can be drafted. If you're planning on booking a reunion, you need to demonstrate that there is a reasonable reason to believe that it could happen. (This rules out Talking Heads, for example.) An artist is considered "active" if they have had or will have one public performance(s) of six or more songs between 1/1/17 and 12/31/22. (This eliminates things like Rock and Roll Hall of fame performances, one-offs for benefits, awards show reunions, talk/variety show appearances, etc.) An artist would be considered inactive if they don't meet the live performance requirements or if there is credible documentation that an act has broken up or has no plans of touring.”

Thank you all for this poll. The rules does not say anything about an artist DJ set or live set and how they have to be billed. If you vote No you are just making up your own rules 👍
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

my original reply to this was going to be along the lines of that I agreed with you but still voted no because making up rules as we go along is fun.
but then I thought about it more and I think we should consider that if this gets voted down, it sets a precedent for live vs DJ sets being two separate acts, which is whatever if it's the case from the jump, but I'm not sure that's a can of worms that should be opened at this point. If you don't think they are two separate acts, you should vote yes.

you have to use a free agent spot to have a live and DJ performance so they're already two separate acts.

that won’t be the case anymore if you guys decide to separate Grimes live and DJ with this poll

If this fails, which it shouldn’t because she’s performing under just Grimes next month, my repick will be either Four Tet DJ set or Floating Points live, depending on which was originally taken 😚

Grimes will be playing under just the Grimes name opening for Swedish House Mafia on July 28th in Miami and August 25th in Austin. The same way she will be billed as just Grimes at my fest🙂

voting Grimes is eligible. this is a really rare situation but if the rules want to differentiate between "live" performances and DJ performances in terms of what performances qualify the artist, they should explicitly do so. under the current rules Grimes is considered active IMO.
