Most likely snaggin a friday single tomorrow. I was planning on going for the Chili Peppers but I would need someone to throw out some decent rock options to make that undercard worth it. Friday I would see Kendrick or 1975 but I'd also check out 30 Seconds, Foals, & Knocked Loose. Any options standout for Sunday? Mnt Joy and Backseat Lovers were two I would probably check out but not really enough to move the needle.
Man, and I thought A Boogie looked over billed on the Coachella poster. His agent finessed all these festivals, how did he pull off these crazy high bookings?

Not enough prominent hip hop acts doing the general festival circuit this year has led to some inflated billing in my opinion.

And Rolling Loud just keeps a lot to themselves and everyone else makes do.

I think thats actually a good explanation for why acts like Joey Bada$$ is 4th on his day at osheaga and Baby Keem is 2 on his day at roo and osheaga. its a super small pool to pick from if we eliminate rolling loud artists

Maybe but a lot of Rolling Loud's big LA names this year come with a lot of baggage culturally...Travis, Kodak, Don Toliver, Tory Lanez, DaBaby, Rolling Loud will book those names because they don't care, but the other multi-genre fests are going to shy away from the bad press they could bring. That's even before Playboi Carti's situation. I'm not sure how much was out there this year that was a slam dunk for a multi-genre festival. Lil Uzi Vert, sure. Lil Yachty, yeah.
With Skrillex not playing any Chicago festival I have a feeling we could get a PHM show on Wed or Thurs Fred's playing Lolla on Friday and Skrillex and Four Tet have nothing booked till Hard Summer on Sunday.
I hate to be pessmistic but sadly I dont think anyone in Chicago is bending over backwards to get these guys to come together. Lolla usually doesnt have surprise acts outside of random day-of additions like MGK or Vic Mensa and I cant think of a venue where these three would be suited for. Id say maybe they aim for the "massive artist in a small venue" Metro set but I would guarantee RHCP is already getting that.
Sad, but idk if Chicago is big enough to warrant it. I think we have much better odds at Skrill doing a NA tour with them both in the fall / winter than us getting a pop-up TBA show around lolla. Id kill to be wrong tho
I was planning on waiting to buy my 4-day til we got closer to the fest but I already have several people hitting me up about coming this year after that PHM livestream last night. Are y'all waiting to buy?

I think it would work at Aragon
MSG -> Coachella -> Aragon is just so jarring to me. The more I think about it tho, the more I believe they wont be coming together again period unless they tour just because I dont know how you one-up MSG/Coachella appropriately.

As much as I hate that place, yeah the Aragon is the only place it would work.
Unless they did something really wild and did a Wednesday preshow at the UC lol

Only venue I see happening is Smartbar/metro since there is so much history with that place.
Couldn’t make coach this year but lolla is my consolation prize. I’m going fri-> sun. Here’s who I’m thinking of catching. Feel free to make some suggestions!
Friday
Kendrick Fred again… Knocked loose
Consideeing foals, sudan archives
Saturday
Odesza JID Sylvan Esso
Considering Maggie rogers, Tom Odell, Nora
Sunday
RHCP Mt Joy Gorgon city Poolside Magdalena bay
Considering Joey badass, bakar
Thoughts/feedback on itenerary? Am I blowing it by not seeing x? Should I avoid y artist that I’m considering?
Outside of the headliner conflicts which where expected my only other big ones are Garbriels- vs Mag Bay and having to leave Foals early for Fred Again. Nice that Pusha T is closing Perry's on Saturday.
