So no new actual news yet from Phil or reputable sources today? Just been busy all day in meetings haha
nothing official yet, just a friend says type posts. I'd say the biggest tell is DD type artists announcing LA shows around the scheduled date.
I'd say due to the amount of these types of posts now, and the variety of info (photographer, touring staffing, promotions, etc) it's all but confirmed. Obviously we have to wait for a true confirmation from DD camp but who knows when that's coming. I'd say sooner rather than later.
I'm sort of relieved to get my early bird money back since I sort of need it desperately right now but it's very very bittersweet. I'd much rather go!! I wanted this to be a new yearly tradition after last year.

Yea I'm with you on that. They have to know if it's not gonna happen now and if so send me my $$ asap so I can buy a Darker Wave ticket with it. especially bummed if it's a no-go because I forego-ed a lot of other fests and this was my northstar for the year.
I hope levitation keeps the scaled down Austin Psych fest going for a while. That wasn't a bad weekend. At least they already said it's coming back next year. I may just have to accept my camping fest days are over

I camped for coachella this year and stayed in a hotel for another fest a few weeks afterwards. I had more energy which I attributed to sleeping indoors. Really bummed about the recent rumors surrounding this fest and praying the best but expecting the worst.
Man I've never been, what a bummer if it doesn't happen. DD always brought a lot of great shows to the west coast
FWIW the person posting about the cancellation only joined reddit a few months ago and only has two posts both about DD.

True though they don’t really mention much. Name dropping those two PNW based promoters seems random enough to make me think it’s real though. A damn shame

To be fair, stories over on Reddit are mostly inforoo people shit posting. I really do think it's cancelled though. Wed have at least gotten a transmission incoming post by now. Also, why promote shows playing the same days as the fest?
I just wish they'd rip the band-aid off. I need to make plans and need my money back.

The later they're dropping a lineup, the worse it will be for them. Most people don't have the income or the days off for multiple festivals. People are going to have gone through their allotment by the time it drops
Levitation said they’d drop their lineup before the end of the month—last two years it came out June 29. It would be kinda weird if DD is still on Radio Silence.

Would be extra weird given how often the two collaborate with one another and given Levitation happens after DD...
As it is DD's lineup usually was available before Levitation's and theirs is historically end of June like you said. I don't imagine both would drop their lineup the same week? But the last fest related comms mentioned "Tons of shows and some sort of announcement..." this month so I guess we have until next Friday before jumping ship
Something I can't wrap my head around is people mentioning funding being the issue. Going off of all the past emails and comms, DD was confirmed set to be going on this year at Lake Perris on the dates scheduled as far back as March/April if you want to ignore the cryptic June message. I would imagine if funding was an issue messaging would've came sooner or maybe open another presale since the other one did well? Like unless they got burned within this past month I don't see how funding is suddenly an issue.

It really is kinda depressing though .. I did 6 years of roo until 16 while I was in NYC, always wanted to check out DD or the camping Austin psych fest, immediately went to every DD from 18-22 when I moved out to Denver and was pretty happy to have it. This feels like forced retirement from camping fests. I wasn't quite ready yet
