sorry, again I just don't see how saving the person most suspected of being mafia isn't something mafia would do.
and the very existence of that conversation is what makes it something mafia is absolutely capable of doing
it is about the WAY it all transpired.
I was on cinci, he was set to die. I ended up switching over to jortles near the end of the Day bc at that point w the info we had, I felt he was less likely maf than cinci. Day 1 is a crapshoot for anyone outside of maf and inspo who have more info than vanilla town does.
But then Samp dies. And we pretty much all looked at the whack and his posts and were like, well that certainly points to Jortles. I ended up voting him and staying on him and he was exiled d2.
So in your theory, I went out of my way to bring attention to myself by “saving my teammate,” right before maf opts to whack someone who so directly points to said saved jortles — and if he was maf, his team certainly knew they were entering d2 where he’d prob be the exile.
Why wouldn’t I have just let jortles die and lay low myself, when the whack was gonna point to him THAT hard? Needlessly throwing myself into the lime light when I could’ve hung back and let d2 transpire as it would (with people jumping on jostles for how direct the whack points to him)? Sometimes it can feel worth sticking your neck out for a teammate when maf even if it draws attention. This wouldn’t have been a time like that.
Sure maf is “capable of doing” a lot of various things, but this scenario you’ve laid out makes no sense unless you legitimately think I’m an awful player.

Really great job Mafia. I feel like there were eras where the way Teddy and Dan played wouldn’t have worked so seamlessly, but this was perfect timing and should serve as a meta-changing performance. Cum was also on the same path but actually had to participate a little bit once pressed.
That said, I’m happy I at least nailed cum. Sucks I was yelling into the wind with no townies willing to pay attention to a legitimately interesting theory.
