For me with the top four...
Big Thief - Thought it was a good album. Definitely not my AOTY but in my personal top 10-15ish for 2022. Alvvays - Never was able to get into to them that much so only gave this one listen but it didn't grab me enough to return to it. Charli - Solid enough album imo. Not in the very top albums of the year but probably just outside my top 20. Beyoncé - One of the most overrated albums of the year for me. Didn't get the hype.
My AOTY was SVE who was knocked out in the 2nd round, but I didn't expect her to go very far tbh.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

Big Thief was definitely in my top 4. Maybe my #1 but having trouble from there. SZA would be top 4. Maybe BCNR and Alex G but Charli is close. Same with Kendrick. Black Midi is up there. Beyonce is definitely top 10. There's a bunch of stuff I loved this year that just didn't feel like the album of the year. Really enjoyed the AnCo, FKA Twigs, Beach House, Rosalia, Alvvays, Pusha T, Denzel, and a bunch of other shit in this tournament but it's really hard to pick sometimes.

it’s either that or lemonade. None of the others are close. But this one is the first one I actually want to put on all the time. Lemonade I put on like once a year and acknowledge it’s good. Renaissance actually slaps.
My top 4 were King Gizz (ice, death), Destroyer, Animal Collective, Bjork.
Next year we should do the brackets again but also a Top 10 preferential ballot similar to the Top 10 songs weekly thread. We all list our 10 favorite albums in order and someone uses our lists to create the 10 nominees. Then we have like a month long period to listen to all 10 albums and order them in preferential order ourselves, compiling into an "inforoo top 10 of the year". Would be interesting to compare the results to the bracket.
