Go ahead and lock me but would like to hear more from@otter - like I know you don’t have enough info to gauge much more than we can now with this info, but anything you were tracking? What did you make of the movements on and off your given?

What am I possibly supposed to say? I know he's doing it to survive Day One, and now I know he's mafia, but there's nothing I can do to prove it.

But how am I supposed to defend myself? I guess it's convenient that I ended up in the runoff with the "inspector". Especially when I was thrown in at the last minute by Rummy on some bullshit. But whatever - obviously the town has to exile me to find out for sure what I know now.
Not much I can say. Wouldn’t be worth it to reveal myself absent my imminent death. I tried to give some subtle reveals towards potent… if you read back with that in mind, I trust you’ll see it.
And I am with tranter, need some more deets/insight here. Pretty unusual to have inspo in final d1 runoff w their given but it has happened before
If I was faking, I’m not sure whether I would name potent. I could create a lot more chaos by naming a third party, if believed (which you should), potent would presumably be voted out. After all, I’d be asking for you to vote the other person in the runoff out, given or not… then create the chaos of naming another Townee to eliminate on day 2.
The shame of it is… we were all so close to eliminating my given on day 1… but also throwing me out to the wolves. It was exciting, but frustrating.

unless anyone has any in-game experience that says otherwise, faking inspector day one feels like an insanely ballsy move since there’s no way the real inspector wouldn’t be alive to see it + they wouldn’t know who the real inspo was given, possibly giving away 2 names in one. (also if this is all self-explanatory, i’m sorry but i’m trying to talk myself through this whole thing)

You are mistaken. It's not insanely ballsy to do anything when you are on the chopping block. At worst, the real inspector knows you're lying, doesn't buy it, and holds on to that information. But there's a lot of value in making sure as mafia you don't get killed D1 - because then town has to go 3 for 4, there's little room for error.
