I think I need to listen to more King Tuff because this album was way more mellow than I expected. It's a road I've been meaning to go down since I saw him play with Ty Segall way back on that Emotional Mugger tour.
Unpopular opinion: I didn't find that Lil Yachty album engaging at all. Honestly played out as pretty uninspiring, but that seems to just be me.
I'm truly excited to keep diving in to new things this year. Last year was the least music I'd listened to since 2012, which was soul-crushing and indicative of the headspace I was in all year. Good to be back on this train, as slow moving as it may be.

this is defitniely his most mellow album. his first few are definitely the lo-fi, garage rock. his last one, the other, is a lot more polished and gets into more neo-psychelia than the fuzzed out riffs of the earlier stuff. Smalltown Stardust is definitely a shift in direction and tone. it was all right, but probably near the bottom for me.
