For what it's worth, put me in the Prydz closes Mojave camp. It will overlap with Calvin so I don't see crowd size being a problem. From what I've seen of Holo, Sahara wouldn't be a good choice, and anyway Mojave is very large and the perfect spot now for electronic acts.

Brace yourself. People who think Mojave is the size of a shoebox would like to have a word with you.
Uhhh yeah OK so watching that Charli XCX clip, when previously I had only seen her do it on the Reading/Leeds stage in daylight with none of the effects, leads me to two thoughts...(1) I now have another Must See on a night that is already chock full of them and (2) that looks like Mojave or even dare I say it, Sahara to me. I guess they could go the R/L and put that on the day on a big stage but when she did that festival she just had the dancers and none of the effects.
Her headlining night set at my local festival this past year was maybe the best pop show I've ever seen. She'll be a smashing success if Coachella gives her a night slot.
I don't really see any issue with the way we have it now with boygenius->Labrinth->Prydz Outdoor, Charli in Sahara. Underworld closing Mojave against CH also seems like a good pick. why is a Charli/Labrinth conflict or Charli in the Sahara unlikely, I don't understand that? in terms of pure billing, it doesn't seem that different from when BLACKPINK had prime 8pm Sahara and RUFUS slightly overlapped as the penultimate set on Outdoor in 2019? we could also just fudge the start/stop times slightly for both Charli and Labrinth to make it less of a complete overlap
Regardless, I also don't really have any issues with moving Charli around to an earlier tent slot, or fitting her on main like some suggested, unless it gets to a point where we're moving Prydz back into the Mojave to accommodate her on Outdoor. it's not that he can't play there, rather it's that he liked a tweet explicitly suggesting he would play outdoor and Prydz on the Outdoor in between BLACKPINK and Calvin seems obvious and straightforward.
Chromeo and Mura Masa in prime Sahara slots seems weird.
I feel like playing the Sahara during the headliner and sub isn't particularly prime placement.
I don’t think it’s “prime” placement but let’s get slide in Sofi Tukker and Marc Reblitt into the Sahara and Chromeo and Mura Masa out. Mura Masa could swap with Sofi Tukker’s and ST would be good counter programming against Rosalia. Marc and Chromeo would just change spots because I’m sure the Sahara crowd would prefer him over Chromeo at this point.
Small nit picky item is you should probably make Underworlds set time 75 minutes too. Appears to be the normal set time given to them and was similar in 2016.

Sofi Tukker's new show I don't think works particularly well for the Sahara. Not to say they CAN'T play there of course, but they have a whole live thing with a dance group, that I think would be much better suited for the Outdoor, or even Mojave again. I would pretty much bet money they wont be there. Going message Tucker in a bit and see if they know where they're playing yet.
Marc Rebillet honestly I don't think could draw well enough for the Sahara. On top of that, he often does a lot of more chill/R&B type jams that wouldn't work super well in the Sahara. Certainly weirder things have happened than Sofi Tukker or Rebillet in the Sahara, but I'm not sure it's the smart choice to put either in there at this point.

Will make Underworld's time longer.
I figured you would have some insight into ST set times at some point so will gladly defer to you there. While I agree Marc isn’t a huge draw I’d argue Chromeo is even smaller at this point. Certainly a weird day and to Travelfans point I don’t see any reason why Tale of Us or Underworld couldn’t play the Sahara, but would guess that Tale of Us would be more likely.
If nobody is convinced about Underworld, why can’t Tale of Us play Sahara?
Don't they have a specific new lighting set up that wouldn't work in something like the Sahara? I've only heard this though, haven't really seen any videos.

Is there a reason Elyanna is in the Sonora? As a Sonora rat, that's one thing that really sticks out to me about Saturday. I feel like she's there because of Nathy Peluso last year, maybe, but I'd lean towards that being a one off thing than a new direction for Sonora.
It's been pointed out that Snail Mail played Sonora before, but I also don't think that she's grown tremendously since Lush came out. I'd like to occasionally contribute here after lurking for a long time, so I don't know what kind of metrics you all use to make decisions. But it seems like she has fewer monthly listeners than a bunch of early acts in Gobi and doesn't seem to be growing off of the Valentine release. I could see Snail Mail closing the Sonora (unless there's a general rule against repeat Sonora acts) or a mid afternoon Gobi set. I really don't think she would pack out the Mojave compared to something like Bakar or UMI without the kind of momentum Japanese Breakfast had both culturally and musically coming off her book and Jubilee.
I would see something more realistic looking like some combo of:
1. Pull Elyanna out and put her afternoon Gobi (or leave her and move to #2) 2. Swap Snail Mail to afternoon Gobi or late/closing Sonora (if you went with #1) 3. Moving UMI/Bakar around to Mojave/closing Sonora (less hot on the Sonora idea but Bakar would probably make more sense here) to accommodate what happened with #1&2
Snail Mail in the Mojave just doesn't make sense to me. That's a giant tent that I highly doubt would be packed out compared to something like UMI/Bakar. So at a minimum I would swap her to Gobi for one of those two.
Duck Sauce played the Sahara last year. Chromeo makes a ton of sense in there.
Chromeo is a bit different, as they actually play live. But I do think it is definitely at least possible for them to end up there, even if I feel like Mojave is more likely.

yeah, I know, I've seen them a bunch. It's two guys with keyboards playing cheesy funk. It's simple, it's a party, it definitely works in the Sahara

FWIW, Bakar was booked to play the Sonora in 2019 but ended up cancelling. Wouldn't be surprised if he's booked in the Sonora again.

Moved Elyanna out, Snail Mail in, and moved things around a bit early in the Gobi + Mojave to accommodate.

Wait really? Was he confirmed in our thread for the Sonora? I don't remember that.

he was the EDIT: (not third) fifth-to-last name on the lineup poster, halfway down the last line, so I think safe to assume he was in the Sonora. He's billed a lot higher this time though, so possible he's going outside. Just a relevant data point I think

His music seems to have shifted stylistically enough to not fit in as well with Sonora as 2019, but if someone was gonna get bumped from an afternoon set to Sonora to accommodate Snail Mail in afternoon Gobi it would be Bakar. I could definitely see Snail Mail in afternoon Gobi, but I don't think she's big enough for the new Mojave. Bakar/UMI also make a lot more sense to me in Mojave with their monthly listeners than Ethel Cain in Mojave. But that's nitpicky
I feel a little better about how it looks now. Elyanna was my big question mark. Yaeji seems like more of a dark horse to close Sonora randomly than Elyanna after the ela minus curveball last year. But it also seems she is more CDJ heavy than the live synths that ela minus rocks.
also, Snail Mail sold out a 1000 cap venue in my area in the fall. Anecdotal, but I was surprised by that.
black midi was late Sonora last year and sold out at a 700 cap venue in my area in October but had to be moved to a 1200 cap venue a week or two before the show. Still felt surprisingly full despite the late move. I think Snail Mail fits comfortably in there still. They aren't on the ascent like girl in red or Holly Humberstone last year. Without a huge release people latch onto, I feel very confident Snail Mail is late Sonora or afternoon Gobi.

I like late afternoon Gobi for them, last tour they were opening for Turnstile in mid size venues

Nicki Nicole, Tomasa del Real, Javiera Mena and Princess Nokia have also all played the Sonora so it's not really a one-off thing, if anything it's a trend. Elyanna would fall in line with them so I'd suggest putting her back in the Sonora and taking Snail Mail out again.

I think Gobi makes a lot of sense, but Snail Mail probably didn't get booked to play the Sonora again, especially as she gets bigger.
(that black midi set was rad, and was against heavy competition -- still ripped and had a respectable crowd in there)
