are yall just taking the haitus/rosalia confirmation seriously cause it's so random? that seems like the oddest possible piece of info for someone to know.
I can't believe we're still going with that while Prydz liking a tweet that says he's playing the Outdoor is repeatedly ignored lol
yah we moved Prydz because cshenton said Charli and Labrinth can't conflict - which then meant that Charli had to go to Outdoor... I still don't understand why she can't be in Sahara or why she can't be conflicting with Labrinth. the previous version of Saturday felt close to right to me, this new one feels all off.

I said it feels wrong lol. also, Charli can play on Main IMO, others think she needs darkness. we all have different things that seem more or less likely to us individually.
yah as I said before I'm fine with wherever people wanna put Charli until it means Prydz in Mojave - Prydz on Outdoor in between BP and CH is one of the set times/placements I'd be most confident in after that tweet
Move Prydz to Outdoor, move Charli into the Sahara, move one of the hiphop acts from Sahara to Mojave? Earthgang or Kenny Beats would be good in that slot the Prydz is currently in imo

I know I’m way over thinking this, but anybody concerned that the amount of natural light and actual lighting around the Outdoor could potentially tarnish the ability to hide the layers of screens used to pull off HOLO. I was watching some videos online and was surprised by how much of the screen you could see when a hologram was being shown in some cases. I found it distracting and really took away from the overall visual presentation.
Almost all of those were around other ambient white light being in the background, and while obviously the natural light and lighting around the stage described wouldn’t be nearly as impactful as the aforementioned ambient stage lighting, I still have concerns that it could impact the quality of the visual if played on the outdoor stage. Somebody who has seen the show in person please tell me I’m stupid and need to find something better to do with my time.

That settles it then, Prydz to the Gobi
Not suggesting he can’t play the outdoor by any means.
For what it's worth, put me in the Prydz closes Mojave camp. It will overlap with Calvin so I don't see crowd size being a problem. From what I've seen of Holo, Sahara wouldn't be a good choice, and anyway Mojave is very large and the perfect spot now for electronic acts.
Brace yourself. People who think Mojave is the size of a shoebox would like to have a word with you.
Despacio closes for the weekend an hour or two before they go on to close out a tent. I think they get the Honey Dijon and Blessed Madonna set time and close the Mojave.

Now that you’ve brought up the screens though, if the winds happened to be gusty that day I’m curious if it’d be okay in the Mojave. Definitely seems like it might not work on outdoor, given how many times I’ve been to the fest and they’ve had to lower the screens there, but I’m not sure what’d happen in Mojave in the same situation.

The Mojave just works for so many various reasons. The rigging, the perspective, the darkness, less wind, the fact he hasn't brought HOLO outdoors that we're aware of, Mojave is not a shoebox ... Underworld into Prydz is just a perfect back to back.
Oh so now this week's Eric Prydz Mojave goalpost moving is about wind? Cool cool.
Lmao if you put a gun to my head I’d vote outdoor for him right now. But shows with that kind of massive production getting restricted by wind is a legit concern…happened just last year with Stromae, didn’t it? I’m sure his show W1 was still great last year, but not having the full production with his moving screens is a major loss. Not having HOLO for a HOLO show would be a massive bummer. (Same concern for Chem Bros, btw).

This is exactly where I’m at. I’d vote Outdoor today, but just question the logistical nightmare this stage could potentially bring with it for this type of show. Acting like the wind isn’t an issue for at least one night every other year is silly at this point. It should absolutely be a consideration by Paul and team when selecting a stage for a show like this.
nothing about the Chemical Brothers live show would be negatively impacted by wind?
If screens have to come down then it’s impacted… simple as that. However, I thought Chem Bros main screen was a video board making it substantially more stable than mesh like screen which will literally bow in heavy winds. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong. Last saw the chems in 15 so it may be different. Robots definitely wouldn’t go up in heavy winds
The reason why Stromae’s production has to be taken down in the wind was because it was 15 giant screens controlled by robot arms, at least five of which were hanging from the top of the stage. My understanding is most of the Holo setup is on the ground so I don’t think the wind would really be as much of a factor.
Also I’m more interested in going to see Eric Prydz than when the lineup dropped because you guys have hyped this up so much in spite of the fact that every YouTube video of it looks incredibly underwhelming given the premise. The live version of Pjanoo better fucking slap.

Here's the setup Chems had in '19 - one big screen centrally on stage

Chemical Brothers can probably handle the wind ok for the most part. They had to deal with wind a couple times and they just didn't raise the robots all the way which is a bummer but not nearly as big of a deal compared to multiple mesh screens making layers.

Re-upping for no particular reason.
The mojave is not small by any means. That doesn't mean having HOLO there will be anything less than a clusterfuck. Fred Again.. in the Mojave last year had people spilling out of every side.
I'm caught up now so I get the need potentially for lighting attached to the ceiling of a tent. Just less than ideal from viewing perspective.
lol if the wind is that bad it's gonna fuck up any show that's supposed to be there. like it fucked stromae's production but it wasn't a reason he couldnt play the outdoor.
