yeah no way that show will be on Main. but I don't think they're going to put him anytime after Bjork as a sacrificial lamb, just don't think they would've booked things that way. Back to thinking Mojave sometime between 6-9 personally
I realize I referred to him as she and feel shame. That said, he’s played 3 times now since 2016, and likely not going to get a feature set time like he did in 2019. I would think he would be more likely to fill the set time gap noted above more so then someone like Jai Paul who will also not be playing against Bjork and likely at night.
I also don’t think playing the Mojave or Gobi during an extended gap on the main is going to be a bad spot to play, regardless of who the counter programming is. Yes some devoted Frank fans who would have liked to have seen Chris could choose to skip, but casual Frank fans aren’t going to care that they’re a little behind the first row of speakers if they choose to see the majority of Chris in between sets.

Just realizing how weird it is that LP Giobbi, who has more Spotify listeners than anyone else in the Yuma on Sunday (aside from Camelphat) is confirmed to be playing so damn early. A bit sad about it, but at least there is less of a chance of an annoying conflict.
Does the fact that Nora En Pure just announced a date at Sound (Framework who books the Yuma) mean we should move her into the Yuma? And if so, how do we adjust around it?

EDIT: Made some changes to move her in, not sure how I feel about it....thoughts?
If we hated PDM last year in the Yuma for capacity reasons then we should hate putting Nora in the Yuma this year. I would also assume she’s more popular today than she was in 2019 when she played the Sahara so I really don’t think she makes sense in the Yuma.

Thank goodness for the VIP line for Yuma. Don't expect to be in there much this year, but I'll rest easy knowing I won't have to show up two hours early to catch a set.
If Nora goes in the Yuma, then Idris or TESTPILOT is coming out because there's no way that DOECHII plays Sahara and I think Pusha is a stretch too, but maybe could do it. But Sound aside, I think Nora is still Sahara, for sure.

on the other hand, people were making this argument about PDM for 3 months all the way up until set times dropped and he was in fact, in the Yuma.
I think the thing that makes Nora a bit more likely to come out of the Yuma is that she played outside the Yuma last time. But she also drew terribly (got a rough set time), so maybe she's been put back into the Yuma.
I think Idris coming out of the Yuma isn't a bad idea if we put her back in.

After seeing them put Griselda, Vince Staples and Cordae in the Sahara last year, I wouldn't rule out any hip-hop artists playing the Sahara this year. Doechii and Pusha T could easily be in the Sahara if last year is any indication.

I don't think they really care if we hate it or not, as they continue to put acts that should be in elsewhere in the Yuma. You think they would have learned with Yaeji in 2018, and then Chris Lake in 2019...but as you mentioned, they went and put PDM (and Fatboy Slim) in the Yuma this year.

I wonder how much of this is acts asking to play the Yuma? Seems like a lot of DJ’s who aren’t, like, Duke Dumont / Duck Sauce type acts would prefer that atmosphere.
The PDM/Fatboy lines are part of how my wife convinced me to go VIP this year, and now looking at our set time mocks I’m not sure there’s much I’ll be prioritizing in the Yuma anyhow lol. Would love recs if there are any can’t-miss acts! (I’m gonna be all over LP Giobbi but don’t think she’s going to have lines that require VIP lol).

TBH, I'm one of those guys that doesn't really go in the Yuma unless it's for an act I have to see (or to beat the heat earlier in the afternoon). As I'm sure you know, living in SF, most Yuma acts are incredibly easy to see...and considering I DJ for a living and spend most of my working hours inside of clubs, it's just not really the way I enjoy spending Coachella.
That said, obviously will be there for LP Giobbi, and will also probably be there for Kyle Watson, Dennis Cruz + Pawsa and TSHA (conflicts permitting).
For anybody who still thinks HOLO won't work on an outdoor stage.
For the record, I've had no personal problem with him on the Outdoor (as that's where I had originally put him on v1 of the mocks). It is interesting to FINALLY see footage of him playing HOLO outdoors.
Also, HOLO happening before sundown looks worse than I would have thought.

Prydz just announced a new Holo show debuting at Ultra. He’s headlining the mega structure which is indoors. Ultra’s main stage is usually for artists that are going to use Ultra’s house lighting so that makes sense for Prydz to play somewhere else. Based off that video I think the show significantly looks better in a tent. I was all in on the Outdoor but I don’t know anymore.

I was originally pumped for the HOLO show since I’d just seen small clips of the best parts on random social media sites. However, since digging in and listening to the actual sets I’ve become less and less amped for this show, and seeing this production on an outdoor stage now has me hoping for some decent counter programming. Still going to give it a go for 30 minutes or so and hope that it’s better in person but feeling very whelmed now.

Yeah I'm imagining it'll be cool for 30 minutes but I'm fully prepared to split it with the Heineken House headliner or something else

Totally agreed. He was my #1 must see act when the lineup dropped (just barely in front of Jai Paul), now he's closer to #6.
