also Big Wild in the Gobi would never work, and it doesn’t make a ton of sense to conflict him with Jai Wolf. He seems very likely to be in the Sahara. Get DPR squared into Gobi, Big Wild into Sahara, move someone in the Sahara to the Outdoor (3:45 is really late to have the Outdoor start), and bump the Mojave 20 minutes later. That should give the space needed (maybe a Romy/Weyes Blood swap would play better for conflicts?)
While I agree Big Wild and Jai Wolf more than likely wont conflict, I think Big Wild could totally wind up in the Gobi, and would bet money they wont be in the Sahara. I think I've brought this up before, but I can't see them putting Big Wild in the Sahara with their current live set up. I was on stage with them for their set at Life Is Beautiful last year (didn't play the dance structure) and they also didn't have a particularly massive crowd. I think they would be just fine in the Gobi, especially with certain counter-programming.
What's the best way we could do this? I don't think Weyes will be on at the same time as Kali, Bjork, or Frank either, but moving her earlier also seems wrong.
the obvious way to me is to play with the stage closing times. I seriously doubt Gobi/Mojave/Sahara all have acts playing in the last hour of the festival. At least one of those will be closed.
I agree we should probably have the Gobi or Mojave shut down during Frank, but should probably leave the other two with acts. That said, I don't see how closing either tent one act earlier makes it easier to move Weyes in a way that doesn't have her conflict with either Jai Paul, Bjork or Frank, but if you have a suggestion, I'm all for it.
EDIT: I guess we could move Weyes to where we have The Blaze now, and shift things around, but does that seem more or less likely than just having her conflict with Jai Paul?

It’s a lot of dominoes which is why I just suggested the mechanism. I’ll take a look later today and suggest something
Too popular now. Beabadoobee, girl in red, and Beach Bunny were all on the 2020 Sonora poster but played elsewhere
Difference is those three got upgraded billing last year while Alex G got bumped down a line. He'd be fine in the Sonora.
Hmm I didn't notice that. I just know he's sold out venues in my city that artists outside of the Sonora haven't, but with his billing this year compared to 2020 I guess it still makes sense
Should we extend Holo's time by 10 minutes, or do Ultra acts typically get longer set time slots?
I think you’re going to see HOLO and the Chems get 90 minutes. Which isn’t a big deal with them both likely closing the outdoor. Will be interesting to see what they do with the Sahara on Saturday. Kind of think they’ll close it for a while against BLACKPINK and then reopen against Calvin with a hip/hop act.

Okay, we can extend their times by 10 mins each.
I highly doubt the close the Sahara during the least popular headliner of the weekend.
Pusha T's DJ mentioning the "Coachella Stage". Like other artists who have said similar things, do we think he means Coachella in general, or should we take this as a Main Stage confirmation?

I don't think we should read too much into this, personally. Last time he played he was at 4:10pm on the main. I dunno why they'd book him to play the exact same slot, particularly given it was a weird one in 2019, and the only other place he could really go on the main is where we have Becky G right now (unless they do something strange like stick Burna Boy on the outdoor at like 8pm).
Unless, of course, they upgrade it to a Clipse reunion at the last minute, in which case a mainstage slot makes sense.

I don't think this is a confirmation necessarily, but I also don't think it would be weird to put Pusha T where we currently have Wet Leg. He's billed just 3 spots higher than he was in 2019, so a 45ish minute bump up on the Main compared to 2019 doesn't seem unlikely to me. To be honest, it seems more likely than the 8pm Mojave slot we have him in, imo.

Have we ever had an act come so close to repeating their prior set time exactly (like, within an hour, same stage, outside of something like a repeat top-3 act)? Outside of the Yuma/Sahara, where that sort of thing happens by default, I can’t think of many examples, but if you can I won’t fight it.
Caribou was within 50 mins of their 2015 set time last year, but it had also been seven years since they played, and that time worked great for them in 2015. I dunno.
not quite the same but DJ Snake closed the Outdoor in both 2017 and 2019 and I remember being surprised by that at the time
What are some reasons you were surprised? those were some of Dj Snake’s peak years in terms of festival billing if im recalling correctly. They’ve also placed various mainstream electronic acts there, like Axwell/\Ingrosso, Jack U, Zedd, etc

- Duke Dumont played quite literally the exact same slot the last two times he's played
- DJ Snake closing the Outdoor within an hour of his previous time twice
- Blood Orange played almost the exact same slot the last two times he's played
- Tame Impala played within an 30 or so minutes of the same slot between 2011 and 2013
- Richie Hawtin played the same Yuma closing slot twice
- Mac DeMarco played about two hours compare to his previous slot on the same stage
Only looked into this for about 5-10 mins, but it has happened before.

Don’t forget Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, they played the same slot between w1 and w2.
I remember going in circles about DJ Snake not repeating his slot in the 2019 thread, or EOTS not repeating Sahara in the 2017 thread, etc and then they went on to play the same spot.
While I think Pusha T repeating the main stage is weird, because that setting did not really work for him well in 2019 and I say that as a Pusha T fan, "Coachella Stage" is probably the main stage. Vs saying "take the stage at Coachella". I'd say lock it in. Even if it's weird and the last place I would have put him.
