Mikey i’m curious about your process at this stage. Do you have friends who like you and just feed you info while knowing you have an online presence? Are you scouring Twitter and IG? Hacking the Coachella servers one mid tier act at a time?
Not so sure about the "liking me" part, but yeah it's this.
I started writing down all of Mikey's updates from the last day or so thinking I'd try to toss a new clashfinder together but it got to be overwhelming. Anyhow, here's everything I got (I left out a few acts where we had the stage right/time within like 10 mins of being right)

Yep. We've got them at 9:50 right now. Moving them to 9 actually makes Metro Boomin make more sense (minimizing the overlap with Bunny, which I think they'll want to do given the guests Metro will clearly have). Then, Whyte Fang could close the Sahara vs Bunny and much of it has clicked in place.
At this point I kind of half expect Goldenvoice to reach out to Mikey and just let him post the set times.
They're weirdly obsessed with trying to make Discord a thing even though they have a thriving community on reddit already and killed off the earlier community they themselves managed, so I could see them trying to get people there somehow. But that would probably require announcing when the times will be announced, which they're not going to do.
It's definitely not happening til tomorrow. Which also means W2 isn't happening til the following Thursday, and if there are any W1 surprises we won't know til the last minute if they're back for W2.
Am i crafting memories out of hindsight bias or did we know last year that arcade fire was only wk 1 when it was announced? I am an avid wk 2-er and remember being like booooo won't see arcade fire. maybe this sub just clued me in.

was speculated about furiously, one of the people who leaked it said it was for W1 "at this time" and then on the webcast they said it was W1 only. obviously not the kind of thing that's confirmed until W2 set times drop and they aren't there though.
what makes you say this? I feel like we still have a 4ish hour window where it'd be reasonable to expect them to drop?
Honestly, just a gut feeling given they waited til Thursday last year. It seems, from the sheer number of leaks we've gotten, that the schedule is likely finished. If so, the only reason to continue holding it is because they planned to release it Thursday.

Honestly, just a gut feeling given they waited til Thursday last year. It seems, from the sheer number of leaks we've gotten, that the schedule is likely finished. If so, the only reason to continue holding it is because they planned to release it Thursday.
Overall not a great look by them doing this again cause you kill the discussion and anticipation of the schedule for a lot of people. And you give people zero time to get creative with schedule templates and such. Usually theres lock screen wallpapers people make and that sort of thing. Kind of difficult to pull off in 12 hours to share with others who might be interested. And is it going to be a sequel to last year where they didnt even have a paper guide at the info kiosks til halfway through W1?

Yeah, nobody wants this. I can see the arguments for why waiting til Tuesday the week of the festival is good, but waiting til the day before is very, very bad.
Do we think Paul & Co experience shame when this kind of thing keeps happening?
If its cancellations you cant control that and make due. Trying to squeeze in something last minute and then it maybe blowing up in your face is really tough. But they prob feel worse if the lineup roll out goes sideways than schedule bs. Cant imagine what they felt whrn the volcano screwed em over. I think it made them make sure talent didnt fly over 2 days before.

I really hope so cause with all the leaks coming out and unless there is something completely left field that is throwing things off, why hold onto it? A replacement needed? Other festivals don't wait this long for notifications, unless their name is Fyre Fest...
