Tale of Us - I see Tale of Us either in Yuma or Sahara. They are blowing up across the globe and very rarely come to California. Last time they were here was in late 2021 for Circoloco (with no production). If they come with their visuals/production, they'll need to utilize massive screens. If they are playing a normal set without their visuals, Yuma makes sense, but they better be going up against Prydz. Otherwise, there might be a riot at the Yuma. See below for clips from their latest show out in Tulum from last week.
Keinemusik - you can put these guys almost anywhere from the golden hour to closing. If you were to ask them (or me), no way they would want to conflict with Tale of Us (or even Prydz). It could make sense to bump them down to an early slot outside of Yuma to give them some sunlight to play with, but I could also see them closing Yuma (where you currently have them).
Monolink - Monolink sings, plays the guitar and piano, and uses DJ equipment. I don't see him in the Yuma. Mojave makes the most sense.
Monolink very well may be outside the Yuma (I actually think he has a decent chance this go round), but his show is identical to the show he had last time, which was in the Yuma. Let’s not go 10 rounds on “Monolink/[any other act with nominal live elements who nonetheless plays that show in clubs 100 times a year] can’t play the Yuma” again

I'm having trouble finding when Monolink played the Yuma. I see he played the Do Lab in 2017, but nothing after that.
In any event, if he did play in the Yuma since then, it would make sense to give him an opportunity to play outdoors, especially close to or at sunset.
Yeah if Tale of Us is bringing their Afterlife thing - which of course GV would want and I am sure Tale of Us would love to broadcast to the world via the livestream - I could see them getting that Solomun style outdoor slot. That being said, yes, I feel like that would have been added to the poster but we'll see.
I don't think Monolink is big enough to get a slot outdoors at sunset, only so many of those to go around. Given that he's very tied into the other Yuma acts that day, I think he's a lock for Yuma.

Thought process might be off on this, but does it make sense to throw Overmono in the Yuma and take Jamie Jones out. I believe he’s one of the artist Framework has done large outside solo shows for in the past 18 months. Feels like nearly all of those artists end up outside of the Yuma.
Also this is certainly ending up in the Yuma…Right?
It absolutely *won't* go exactly like this, but if it did, you could have Charli --> Rosalia --> BLACKPINK on the main, Calvin outdoor to allow that party to start the second BLACKPINK ends
I have a really hard time picturing them putting Calvin, the artist with the biggest following of who is playing Saturday, anywhere but the Main Stage.

Even Disclosure at sunset on Outdoor was problematically crowded. I think Calvin literally can't fit there.

Right - totally get that. They won't do that stage breakdown again. More using that as an example that Coachella has scheduled all these ultra rare and popular acts in a way that the fanbases are all happy. I think looking at how they scheduled Aphex Twin and then built a day around that is an example of something they might try to do with Prydz, because we were making the same assumptions about Aphex Twin in 2019 that we're making about Prydz now - "has to close a stage". I just don't see Prydz vs Calvin, or Prydz vs BLACKPINK actually happening - I think GV will find a way to make this day work so that you could see all of Prydz/Calvin/BLACKPINK *or* all of Prydz/Calvin/Underworld.

You all are silly if you don’t think Prydz is closing a stage. I also think Prydz can absolutely overlap with BLACKPINK and Underworld can overlap with Calvin.

I'm actually mixing him up with the other people we've had this fight about; Monolink was on the lineup in 2020.
Argue for him to be outside, I'm on board (like I said, I'm not super opposed to the idea, even if I think he'll end up in the Yuma). Let's just not do the thing where we pretend there's no way he could play the Yuma.

this is closer to where I'm at. absent a good reason, we should default him to the Yuma.
Friday 1. don't think Overmono and Chems will conflict, plus Overmono isn't really billed to play that late. Tokimonsta was billed there last year and played in the mid afternoon. I don't know BENEE enough to say if that's a good swap, but that's the time range I'd have them in. 2. Yves was headliner cannon fodder last name (unfortunately) -- I don't think they'll put him in that spot again. The Garden is also billed much higher than we have them right now. I'd shuffle the late night Mojave accordingly, probably to move Yves earlier and get The Garden either later (would be decent Bad Bunny counterprogramming) or earlier on the Outdoor. 3. I think FKJ is in the wrong spot for his billing. I could see him against the Chems, but he also probably needs to be bumped to after dark or a bigger stage.
Saturday 1. I'm less convinced that Tale of Us won't play Yuma, but I definitely don't think they'll play Gobi. 2. I think Jan Blomqvist is out of the Yuma. Last time he played Reddit was devastated that his live band wasn't booked, and they booked a ton of this "playa tech with live instrumentation" stuff this year. 3. It doesn't have to be Jan, but this day has a ton of live dance music. Think one of those acts will play against Blackpink (maybe Mura Masa hits this niche enough, but throwing it out there) 4. I'm not sure what the best slot is, but I do think they're going to try and route people to The Breeders a bit more than we have here. They had a pretty nice path to Spiritualized last year before Arcade Fire got added at the last minute. At the very least, can't see a Snail Mail conflict. 5. I agree that Saturday night will be the busiest in the last hour, but two second-liners and a Return to the Desert headliner all directly conflicting at midnight is too much. We need to spread these acts out throughout the evening; 9pm is much more likely to be conflict hell than midnight.
Sunday 1. Porter/2manydjs is possible but feels unlikely. Even more so with a Christine/Jai Paul direct conflict. 2. I would do a straight swap of Noname and Sudan Archives. 3. I think Boris Brejcha is way more likely to be in the Yuma than Romy. He's billed around where Yuma headliners have been in the past and makes sense as counterprogramming for Bjork, or even Frank. 4. Mikey I know you know LP Giobbi, so you may know something we don't, but is she not a Yuma act? 5. I think The Blaze is this year's Fred again../Soulwax electronic act that blows up on Reddit. (for my money, a much worse act, but neither here nor there). I'd put them in Mojave around dusk/just after dark.
Friday:
- I agree with basically everything. Most of those were oversights that I missed when making the changes TME suggested. I changed everything you suggested.
Saturday:
- Tale of Us should have been in the Mojave, not Gobi, that's my bad.
- Not so sure about Jan, as I've seen them booked quite a bit recently without the full band set up, and I think they usually bill it as a band if they play as such, so I think leaving them in the Yuma for now until we hear something different makes sense.
- Now that things have moved a little bit, thoughts on where we now have The Breeders?
- Not sure the best way to spread things out Friday night more than we currently have, though I'm open to suggestions.
Sunday:
- Sunday is tough. Do you think it makes more sense for 2manydjs to go against Jai, Bjork, or Frank Ocean? I don't see where we could have them play that doesn't have them conflicting of having a decent amount of overlap with at least one of those acts.
- Swapped Noname and Sudan
- I think Boris could end up either Sahara or Yuma. He's billed pretty high for the Yuma, and I think a set like this could just as easily go in the Sahara:
- LP Giobbi tends to play with hand keyboard visuals when she can. That isn't to say she CAN'T be in the Yuma without those visuals, as she also plays smaller club shows from time to time...but I think that + how full the Yuma already is on this days means she could easily be in the Sahara as well. I'm going to text her in a bit and see if she knows her slot.
- Been sort of struggling to figure out where to put The Blaze as well. We know they have to be after sunset, and I think conflicting with Fisher + Chris Lake makes more sense than vs Bjork or Frank...but if I'm alone here, we can figure out somewhere else to move The Blaze.
2mamydjs vs Bjork, Jai or Frank would be a nightmare for me

I agree that 2019 Saturday will be helpful for us thinking about this day, but Aphex ≠ Calvin (or, frankly, even Prydz doing HOLO, although that's closer)
I went lurking on the Framework IG post (since they book the Yuma), and they liked a comment that said "Boris should headline." Don't think that's a confirmation, but they're not liking every comment, so I think it's worth considering more.
They also liked comments about Minus The Light, which we have confirmed for the Yuma (although Mikey the current clashfinder has them in the Sonora, should fix that), Sasha & Digweed, Keinemusik, and Hot Since 82. None of those are surprising, but should keep them in there.
They notably did not like comments about Cassian or Tale of Us. But Cassian tagged Framework in his IG post of the lineup poster, so I think we should count him in there at least.

Yeah I am equating Prydz and Aphex, not Calvin and Aphex. I definitely think Prydz will "close" a tent but don't think that has to mean the tent runs until closing. We made the same mistake by having Aphex vs Tame on every mock that year for the same reasons we're talking about Prydz - rare booking, big stage set-up/dismantle, he'll want to play 90+ minutes, etc. And they just closed the Mojave early. Each day this year is a little lighter on acts than last year - only like 5-7 acts per day +/-, but still that gives room for some acts to have longer sets and for some tents to shut down a little earlier.

I'm so happy they booked an Amapiano act this year. Hopefully the set is earlier in the day and I can catch it.

Which Framework acts played outside of the Yuma last year? Honest question, I have no idea.
I don't see why Uncle Waffles "certainly" will end up in the Yuma. Don't believe we've ever had an Amapiano artist like her in there ever before. She could wind up there, but I don't think she needs to be there by any means.

Never had amapiano outside of Heineken house and Do Lab. I think her music works best in the Yuma but I could see her energy being a fun Gobi set day or night but since she’s so low it would have to be day most likely

Off the top of my head Solomun, Four Tet, Floating Points were past individuals who played in late 21 early 22.. Obviously Jamie Jones is smaller than those. However, Hot Since 82, Gordo, Martinez Brothers, and Jamie Jones all played Framework outdoor park shows in 2022 after Coachella. I believe the Jamie Jones led event sold out but don’t think the others did which is why I bring up his name as a possible act outside the tent this year.
In an unrelated note I think it’s funny that they’re just like hey let’s get Idris Elba to play against…. Insert here extremely rare live electronic act. (Chem Bros, Aphex Twin)
