I've yet to see 2manydjs live so I'm pretty excited, but man what I would give for another Soulwax set. Their last appearance was one of the greatest live shows I've seen in my entire life. The dueling drums with Igor Cavalera was otherworldly.
I was such a mess during SOULWAX --> Jamiroquai LOL. I really blew it. I barely remember anything and I was so fucked up I had to sit down in the back through most of both.

In between those sets my wife was coaching me through how to eat an orange chicken bowl in Indio Central Market. A saint.
Angèle is a Belgian pop star who might be this year's Rosalia. she has a good voice and cool production for what will probably be a pretty small Coachella crowd.

Just discovered her this morning in my daily lineup dive and absolutely love what I'm hearing. I almost get an Aurora meets Yelle vibe.

Agree 100%. I've rewatched the live stream rip of that set so many times and it never gets old.

Blondie is a rock/new wave band fronted by the amazing Debbie Harry who at 77 years old still sings great. Their set at Cruel World last year was one of my favorite sets of the weekend. The hits are many but these are a good start.

LP Giobbi is DJ who makes lovely piano house music. She also sometimes does some pretty sweet sets she called Dead House remixing Grateful Dead and other classic rock tunes.
Gabriels are a three-piece band fronted by Jacob Lusk, an erstwhile American Idol finalist from Compton, CA. Their music draws heavily on soul, gospel, R&B, and orchestral elements, deftly balancing groove and sensuous, moving vocal melodies, all with baroque yet welcoming arrangements. They have released 2 EPs that were extremely well-received by critics, and have released half of their debut album, with the second half to follow in March. They have a very unique sound, and are very worth your time. Feel like Coachella will be a launching point for them, very excited for this one.

Same goes for their set at Movement. Carl Craig b2b James Murphy was great, but there wasn't anyone who could have followed them that night.
NIA ARCHIVES is a jungle DJ/producer from the UK. she rips, playing a fresh take on a classic sound. she's going to detonate the Yuma early on Saturday.
Does she always put on jungle sets? I've seen some videos of her singing and performing quite different material, and with all due respect to that side of her artistry I need some fucking junglechella.

IMO her billing suggests she'll be in the Yuma, but she could theoretically be doing a live show in a tent. agree with you, I would like a DJ set, or at least an old-Yaeji-type thing
Labrinth is an English singer, rapper, songwriter and record producer, best known for soundtracking Euphoria this set will sure to be an interesting one! He has not performed much, if at all, live since 2016. Also a member of the group LSD made up of himself, Sia and Diplo. Personal favorites include All of Us, Mount Everest and Formula.
Can someone tell me about Jai Paul? I've listened to some tracks and it sounds cool but can someone explain the hype? I had never heard of him before this year.

Sure. Long story short, around 2010-2011 his song BTSTU popped up online (I think through his myspace page) and it ruled. It got a lot of hype from online tastemakers (mostly British), and was sampled by both Drake and Beyonce. He put out another song, Jasmine, around the same time. Then, like a year later, someone leaked basically an album's worth of demos from him, stuff that was in varying stages of completion. After that, he more or less just disappeared. He resurfaced in like 2019 or so and released all the leaked songs on streaming services, plus two new tracks. Basically nothing since then, until he pops up on this year's lineup, which will be his first ever live performances.
So it's a very reclusive act, who also happens to be hugely influential, making his live show debut after a decade-plus.
The only thing I'll add to Jai Paul from Larry's write up is that he had an incredibly innovative sound at the time. If you listen to him now, strong chance you'll be like "yeah these songs slap" but so many artists have incorporated aspects of his sound since then (Frank Ocean, Lorde, James Blake, Kaytranada have all said he was an enormous influence on them). At the time, I remember hearing BTSTU and thinking it was like a fucking spaceship of a song.
Also, candidly, this is probably the rarest non-headliner booking Coachella has had in a decade. I literally gasped when I saw his name on the poster. Nobody thought this guy would ever perform live, ever.

I wasn’t necessarily prioritizing seeing them at Coachella just because that whole night, with James Murphy DJing afterwards on the Smartbar sound system felt like a mini Despacio lol, but I’ve been looking at a lot of recent live set videos and the new visuals they’ve been using look so good. I love the hilarious Marie Davidson office software thing for “Work It” especially (starting at 2:20):

Never thought I'd see Clippy utilized in a live show, but here we are.
