I'm just starting to get more into that type of music (got tix for Elder this spring!) so I recognize LD has a vision for this fest, but I don't think I'm deep enough in to fully appreciate it. 3 of the 5 bands I've seen before were thanks to Bonnaroo, which I think is pretty funny (not including Black Tusk, who I think I saw open for Bongzilla, but I was pretty fucked up so I don't remember). Anyways, I had one of their LN's picked as one of MY LN's. But as soon as I found a replacement, they picked that one too lol
2. Afghan Haze is a stoner band from Connecticut. The metal show on the college station plays them a bunch. Get some New England bands for an early in the day set.
3. While doing research for this, I came across Somali Yacht Club. They're from Ukraine.
4. Ahab is a band from Germany. Their debut album, The Call of the Wretched Sea, is a funeral doom metal interpretation of Melville's Moby Dick. I happen to listen to it a bunch - usually when having mental collapses, for better or worse.
