I mean if you look at top line only, maybe. This is a massively diverse lineup
Yeah, I mean, have to go to #12 to find a woman-fronted band (3rd line on the poster).
Lot of diversity, you're right, but it starts about midway down the poster to me. Could be a function of the genres and touring, just wish there were some bigger names.
I think you're right about it being a function of the genres and touring more than anything. Rock and Country(+) have always been pretty male-dominated, and so have B&B's lineups. The poster from 2022 had Alanis second her day behind Jack White and Brandi second her day behind Kings of Leon. The majority of the rest of the acts were primarily male, but each of the 1st 3 days had a female on line 2 (Japanese Breakfast Thursday, Courtney Barnett and Elle King Friday and St. Vincent Saturday). 2023 did have Brandi headline Thursday, Brittany Howard second line Friday and Blondie #2 on Sunday. So between what's available and certainly the country aspect maybe even more so than the rock, it's what it is.

Considering buying a 4 day pass and visiting KY for the first time. I would probably skip Saturday though...ehhh...it would eat up 3-4 days of PTO though
Looks like there's still some decent Airbnbs, can anyone tell me about the best areas to stay? Obviously anything walking distance is probably snapped up now but I see options downtown. Do I need a car? It's really close to the airport, should I just stay in an airport hotel?
I'm not going, but a friend from Texas said in a group chat, "Y'all probably won't like it as much as I do, but it's strong. And x (his wife) wants to go now." She didn't go in 2022. I'm not gaga, but I feel like there was effort to put quality stuff in the middle of the lineup. Even much of what I don't listen to, I wouldn't mind seeing or listening to walking around the grounds. For me, it's much more the middle card that gets it even though I've seen most of the acts. Neil Young (in whatever capacity), Beck, Matchbox 20 who I don't necessarily like but respect, The National, Tyler, MMJ, TTB, Melissa Etheridge, Sierra Ferrell, Cory Wong, Dinosaur Jr., Bruce Hornsby, JJ Grey & Mofro, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway (underbilled IMHO), Arlo Parks, Hiss, Cimafunk, Son Volt, Samantha Fish, Amigo the Devil, Record Co., Sam Bush Band, YMSB, Abraham Alexander, Andy & U.N., that's a lot of stuff without looking at it by day that I'd see. Plus of whatever I don't know (30% or so of the lineup), probably includes a bunch of bluegrass which will be in the bluegrass situation area. You also can get involved in being selected to taste expert cocktails or judge food if you're in that area early enough before a specific event gets started. Definitely stuff to keep the toes tapping and enough adjacent entertainment with the bourbon kiosks, food demos and all to fill up most of the afternoons and nights. I think it's about a 8 overall lineup and a 6.5 for my tastes since I don't really care for big country acts or DMB (not that I wouldn't see either). However, the final Chef lineup once it's all released is likely to be a 9.25.

Airport hotel would help. There are maybe 10 of them around the perimeter of the grounds and the airport. You'd have to walk a bit, but it's not that bad. As per earlier post, we had a devil of a time finding any rideshare last year when we needed it. Downtown isn't all that far away, but I wouldn't walk it. Also most of the people at the hotel we stayed at were there for the festival. We had some great parties until 3/3:30am outside drinking with people and talking about the day.
This festival lineup has single-handedly put the final nail in my Bonnaroo Groop’s coffin. The only ~7 other people who had been interested immediately jumped ship upon seeing this. And I can’t even go to B&B! Forgive my pouting it’s a dope lineup but now I need to completely rework my live music strategy for the year
Why did they put Neil at #4 but make his font bigger than the other HLs
They owed it to him.
I'm also curious as to what he's going to do (maybe more "how"). It would be great if he just mostly stood up on the stage, sung and played guitar and had any of the dozens of people he already knows playing there to come up on stage for duets, special guesting and shit. That would be pretty memorable of a show and a departure compared to other stuff such as Crazy Horse, PotR, The Shocking Pinks, Royal Pineapple Band or any of his other backup bands. But maybe it'll just be his electric band backing him?
Obviously Inforoo is going to love this lineup because it's an alternate bizzaro world 2024 Bonnaroo where the Big Capp Dogg never sold to Livenation and just leaned further into country instead of EDM/rap.

I stay in New Albany. Lots of cool little Air BNBs. About a 10-15 minute drive. Headed back for 3rd year

Currently seeing if the girlfriend would want to do this instead of our current plans for September. If so I will see you folks there. This lineup rules.

Welp, I just snagged a VIP Thursday ticket. 290 for Neil young, Beck, Fleet Foxes, M. Ward, futurebirds, Cory Wong and Mapache is a steal for my taste. I’m pumped

I think there’s a chance you get your wish. It’s the same weekend as Farmaid, which is typically solo with some collabs thrown in the mix. Definitely thinking no CH, as I imagine they would have specified that similar to Jazzfest.
From Danny Hayes, CEO of DWP, on his Facebook Group:
I am BLOWN away by ticket sales today!! Beyond VIP and Saturday Single days are CLOSE to selling out! If you want to grab both LTL and B&B passes, get the Exacta pass!! Camping is moving pretty fast as well with several already waitlisted. Weekend Mint VIP is already on level 3! This year is going to be BIG!!!!

Definitely a good value. Most sets aren’t that long but typical - 90-120 for HL, 75 subs, hour or less for most else. Thursday I’d also be interested in seeing Suzanne Vega. She goes way back to that woman folkish songwriter revival era I only heard a few songs but you’d think it’s better than filler. I might even have to go look some up for old time sake. Patty Smyth I think is that chick from mtv band Scandal that did Goodbye to You. I hated that song but I think I remember reading that she went on to more of an artistic side later. So 2 random 80’s stars. You probably know Arlo Parks already, but they’re a top notch vocalist. I’ve come away from both sets I saw impressed. Sade influence but different and usually with talented musicians. Rarely would you hear me recommend some R&B, but Arlo can sing.

I wonder if there’s a chance of opposing headliners? I bring it up because there’s more stages and more acts, but also MMJ’s socials say something to the effect of “we’re glad to be headlining in our hometown”.

Sunday is my most stacked but personally each day has a lot for me to enjoy even Saturday that most don’t like. However going through the website just realized Kevin Bacon is playing this which is pretty awesome!

I was thinking this too, with so much talent on the top lines. Maybe two sub-headliners play opposite ends of the grounds? In ‘19 and ‘23 the side-by-side stages naturally drew most of the crowd, while the back half of the grounds were very uncrowded, with only the Bluegrass Situation stage providing live music (but stuck in the middle of the bourbon bars). A big stage on that end of the grounds could really help spread out the crowd and make better use of the space.
I could see Beck vs. Matchbox 20, Tedeschi Trucks vs. Black Pumas, who knows what on Saturday and The National vs. Tyler Childers on Sunday.

Tedeschi Trucks also posted that they are “headlining” Friday night.
