We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Big milestone birthday for me today. I’m friggin 40
HAPPY CAKE DAY!! 40 was easy as I started to finally figure my life out. 50 was a lot harder and I scrapped everything I thought I knew from 40 and started again.
Enjoy your day! You’ve got 10 more years till it sucks.
Also, it’s ok to kick people in the balls for starting out with “Lordy, Lordy” today. It’s in the Constitution.

It's my birthday. I've already biked 30 miles and now I'm on my way to brunch at Adele's.
Happy birthday. Looks like a buffet brunch? I’m getting Johnny cakes, crispy potatoes (though I generally dislike pecorino), seasonal vegetarian soup, roasted chicken with salsa verde and the pecan pie and cinnamon bread pudding for dessert. Maybe a yippie-Kai-ya or breakfast bourbon.

It was a buffet. Sean Brocks restaurant. Was amazing. The cinnamon bread pudding was fantastic.

Today is my 37th birthday. Currently camped out on Lake Juliette in central Georgia about 20 miles outside Macon. It's beautiful blue skies. Would never have guessed a hurricane just rolled through here.
