Song that makes me want to forget someone - hate to pull out the hammer so early, it's not past midnight yet!
quick story on why that I've shared before:
Prince has been my favorite artist since I was like 8 (though the reasons why have shifted considerably over the years - I did not know about "Head" until I was much older). The first time I had a chance to see him live, I was 23, and I was dating my college girlfriend with whom, despite all of the warning signs that were readily apparent, I was madly in love. I was going to grad school, working three jobs, living at home, and dating her where she lived an hour away. I went to get her for the show, driving the hour up to college, then an hour down to Pittsburgh. About halfway down I-79, she burst into tears and basically said we needed to break up. I stopped her mid-breakup and asked if we could enjoy the Prince show before we broke up. She pulled herself together, we went to dinner, had an amazing time seeing Prince on the Musicology tour, and the last song of the encore of course was Purple Rain. We danced and had a great, great time.
On the way home, she broke up with me. I'm not sure I ever saw her again in person. I don't want to forget her, per se, but it's the closest I can come for this prompt.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
