This kinda explains why the “April gap” is so common for major touring artists, even when a lot of em aren’t ultimately booked for Coachella. Wouldn’t be surprised if agents really told their clients “look, PT doesn’t book Coachella until last minute so if you wanna do it ya gotta keep April free in case he calls you up in late Dec”
I used to be friendly with Incubus’s old manager Steve Rennie and he would always try to keep April open on their touring schedule each year in case Coachella was interested. Paul never offered them a slot but they held out hope just in case, at least in the mid-2000s through the early 2010’s. So there are definitely some artists that do this lol

Everything pre 2018 was Coachella improving operational efficiency. Using that as a baseline we can project the recent trend which has a target of 13.248 days into January. Since that is Saturday, and presumably avoiding the weekend, 15th confirmed.
