I think different generations have a couple rappers who could be labeled as most influential.
In terms of rappers taking their lyrical skills to another level? That would be Rakim In terms of "making songs for women"? LL Cool J In terms of being "abstract/weird"? Combo Missy, Busta, Andre 3K, ODB etc Story telling? Slick Rick

probably accurate unless they're still having lineup troubles.
I feel like, at this point, they'll just drop it when it's ready. They've done Thursday nights before. No reason to wait until Tuesday if they've nailed down the third headliner.
The only acceptable answers for most influential historical figures in rap would be Grandmaster Flash or Run DMC (if considering broader hip hop culture).
Kanye spawning a few different transient microgenres of emo rap is infinitesimally smaller.
I'd say they are both super important, I'd also throw KRS-One and Slick Rick up there too but your kidding yourself if they are the most influential in hip hop ever.
Honestly it's pretty hard to say who is the most influential just bc there is so many styles and sub genres. I wouldn't say Kanye tho either. Not sure where you got the emo rap thing either since that pretty much came from early 00s emo pop rock.
If I had to give one answer I'd say Wayne. The reason being he is responsible for Drake and Nicki whom are both super influential for the sound.
It depends on your interpretation of "influential". To me rap isn't something as murky as the evolutionary growth of spirtual and blues into rock and roll. Rap really only came into being within the last 45 years or so, in various forms.
To me the world of rap before Run DMC and after is just so much more exponentially different than before/after a Wayne or Kanye or whatever.
Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.
