If Doja really is the third headliner I'd have to imagine they've at least cooked up another stellar trio of former headliner-esque super subs like last year.
Problem is these headliners don't feel that much bigger than the super subs last year, so any "super subs" this year are likely to be less super than last year.
Say what you want about Friday release but if the lineup is set… everyone now thinks/knows Doja is headlining… and you know the reaction is poor… letting this ride into the weekend seems like maybe not the best idea?

The reaction from most on any other platform other than artist posts is usually negative anyway.
My favorite is those who say the festival sucks now, or that they don’t book real music… lineup release day comments are always a good way to find out who’s graduating to “old man, yells at cloud” tier.

Yea, I went on Xwitter when the HitsDD article had just came out back on the 5th, and the majority either didn't bring her up or talked positively about her being a headliner.
I think, not bringing her up, is seen as positive by GV/PT because it's not negative. There were people talking shit, like always, but it was nowhere near as bad as we do on here or on reddit.

Yeah GV obviously doesn’t listen to the noise which is great because it’s not reality. LDR has a massive fanbase and is culturally relevant at the moment, it’ll be a well-attended set even if a subset of people dislike it or skip her altogether.

yeah I wouldn’t like the killers as a headliner against a shitty Yuma closer or anything but if they subbed and there wasn’t anything else better you would absolutely catch me screaming “When You Were Young” 8 beers deep.

Scarlet is seen as a low point for Doja and it sold 2x as much first week as Cracker Island. No one knew that album last year outside of the Bad Bunny feature which wasn’t that good.
Rosalia was a mega star but played the YouTube theater in LA while Tyler’s Crypto show sold out in 5 mins and was streaming on Amazon Prime

Most headliners do, I’ve seen The Strokes three times and it’s been good-terrible-mid (SK 2015, Landmark 2015, OSL 2021). I’ve seen The Killers in 2009, 2016 and 2021, and they deliver exactly as big of a show as expected, even if the Springsteen cosplay is getting ridiculous by now.
