Pretty nice but a little too much overlap with Coachella for me. Underworld better announce more dates or I’ll just go down to LA for that. Hopefully some of the smaller acts will do west coast tours around it.

So about ten names from the 2022 Portola lineup ended up at Coachella in 2023 (Kaytranada, Chemical Brothers, Charli XCX, Hot Since 82, Romy, SG Lewis, Yaeji, Yves Tumor, DRAMA, and Keinemusik). Any guesses on who makes the jump this year?

Hoping for Nelly Furtado, Little Simz and Jockstrap

I get people's aversions to repeats in general between festivals so I get the disappointment to an extent (and I understand it more if you're in SoCal where these bands are announcing shows), but...only to an extent. like yeah I just saw Jai Paul and Underworld a month ago and...I want to see them again. I want to see Hot Chip, my favorite live band, again. I have seen zero bloghouse people in any capacity and look, Kavinsky's there, awesome, I want to see him. Like, yeah, I don't give a shit about FKJ or whatever but also I've wanted to see Basement Jaxx ever since I was picking out their CDs from the library when I was a kid. Hard to be mad at leftovers when the leftovers are all great!

Man I was hoping for Nia Archives with all the repeats. It was always going to be a challenge to top last year's lineup. I bought into the Aphex hype for sure but this stil looks like a damn good time.

Yeah not doing this. Less DJ sets and Justice with a new album next year might get me there. Gonna try for Sustain Release instead, also glad Overmono is playing boston

I wish MoogFest had not royally fucked up in North Carolina...
We could be getting lineups like this still.
I miss the AC Entertainment days. Those fests were fun.
Same.
Got one of the $99 passes for 2014.
Also got a $99 one in 2017. I guess they forgot to scan me out at one of the venues, I went to another and my wristband wouldn't scan, they told me to go to guest services, guest services took my wristband and I thought they were going to reset it or give me a new one, they baselessly accuse me of somehow stealing it and refused to give it back or refund me. Fortunately, had a friend who was DJ'ing for a couple of acts who had some extra artist guest passes. One of the people who took it saw me at another venue and tried to kick me out and I flashed the guest wristband and was like "Yeah. Not cool...", to which they backed down.

Oh shit, I didn't realize Major Lazer and Major League Djz released an amapiano record together and looks like their set will be pretty much all amapiano. OK, that's much better than what I initially thought this would be.
