Sleep Token doing Radio City Music hall a few days before BC, also with RHCP touring around the time think they could be one of the headliners?
You may be on to something with RHCP as a headliner. Looks like they are doing large amphitheaters next summer and XFinity Center is not listed on their east coast leg (Florida up to Toronto).
I don't think Sleep Token is a BC type of act, but I could be completely mistaken with new ownership.
Think there's a lot of misconception here about a "BC type of act" based on people's personal opinions in this forum. I think BC is going to book whoever is going to move tickets and considering how big Sleep Token is that would be a huge get. They haven't done Boston yet off their new album and their Palladium show last fall sold out in seconds.

Possibly - the organizers have traditionally shied away from alt/prog metal acts, despite being a multi-genre festival and despite acts like NIN and Actor Observer playing in recent years (one being a replacement x2, the other playing on the orange stage). You could argue that King Gizz's inclusion this past year falls under the prog metal space given they were touring the PetroDragonic Apocalypse album, so maybe Sleep Token would help move tickets.

They are definitely a BC act cause they suck. Lock em both in

id argue they’ve reliably booked heavier acts every year since moving to Harvard, Sleep Token doesn’t seem out of place to me

I mean 2017 had Tool and Converge...2022 had Metallica...last year also had Brutus. They don't shy away from Metal acts. Sleep Token is also more genre diverse than other modern metal acts. Wouldn't surprise me if they are a lock based on the tour being in NYC a few days before and the amount of hype behind them that people outside this forum may not be aware of.
RHCP is open, but do they want to come out east for a festival somewhere between 24-26 and play PNW on the 28th? That's a long way to go for a single festival gig.
As for the lack of a Boston show, aren't the dates mostly cities that they missed last year?

They would start in Boston, most likely the 24th, or 25th, then head back to the west coast to start the US leg of the tour.
Their last swing through the US, in both 2023 and 2022 (when they played Fenway) was a stadium/ballpark tour. The shows that kick off in May are all amphitheater shows. So yes, with the exception of Toronto, these do look like locations that were missed last time, most likely due to a lack of stadium/large ballpark to host them last time.
At this point, we're still throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing if it sticks.
Did you just watch the R&R Hall of Fame ceremony? You must have, as you've noted 2 inductees (Rage and Crow) and one of the performers (H.E.R.).
Sheryl doesn't fit the mold and only has a few shows scheduled - one in the Bahamas with Lionel Richie, one in Seattle for Chris Stapleton's All American Road Show and 2 at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta in August.
H.E.R. isn't currently touring and has spent that last couple years as Coldplay's opening act around the world. She has one full album and some EPs, she's not headliner or sub-headliner material (and you thought nobody would know Paramore?)
Hozier would be a sub at BC. He was/is a headliner at smaller festivals - Iron Blossom in Richmond in 2023 and High Water in South Carolina in April (his only US show in 2024 - he just toured the US for his latest album in 2023), and was an early evening, hour set at ACL.
While I think Stevie Nicks would be a good, but not great headliner, I don't think she would drive ticket sales for the festival.
I see Sheryl Crow in the Alanis role in 2024: the 90's and forward well-known female artist with a bunch of hits and critical credibility.
There are a bunch of pop artists they could book if they're open to going in that direction, but does it really feel like they'd want to do someone like Eilish, P!NK, or Perry in the top line at the present time?
Sheryl Crow is out, opening for P!NK (so, she's out too tw12), at Gillette in August.
Slowdive's tour ending before BC and no east coast dates
I would LOVE for them to be on the bill, but they are in London on the 25th.
Also, as far as "harder" acts, Limp Bizkit, Hot Water Music, Quicksand, and GWAR (I mean, it could have happened) will not be at BC. Would have loved Quicksand, though.
As far as older indie/alt acts, Dandy Warhols and Echo and the Bunnymen are out too.
Vampire Weekend confirmed being active with their SLC show in early May. Would not be at all surprised if we ended up with them. The real question would be "are they a headliner these days?" and i think the answer is probably yes

They'd be great at BC, and I think you're right that being active would point to them being at BC. However, how are you defining "headliner"? With the way BC designed their 2023 poster, would being the #2 name and same font size as #1 on a day still be considered a headliner? I'm just wondering if a RHCP, Tyler Childers, Vampire Weekend, and Hozier top 4 moves tickets, especially without a prominent female act in there.

I know they're trying to reformat things to make the #2 name on a day feel like a "headliner" but no, i think only the top 3 names overall (top 1 per day) are real headliners. Agreed that the top 4 you laid out does feel a little weak on starpower to me, if it were to be true.

Damn, missed that oh well.
Feel like Vampire Weekend could be in, could see them as a Red Headliner before someone else.
Could see the poster being RHCP/Vampire Weekend Lana Del Rey/Boygenius Tyler Childers/Hozier as the headliners

Yep, I could see at least 5 of those 6. Not sure if Boygenius will be touring next year. Phoebe Bridgers might, so slot her in the Boygenius spot or change places with VW. However, she is on record saying that she is done touring for awhile (solo tour with Taylor Swift and then Boygenius), so who knows.

VW are also European exclusives at Primavera the week after BC

Probably, since she's the sort of middle billed artist who'll sell a certain number of tickets on their own.
What's weird, though, is that Jason Isbell just announced a Roadrunner date in June, despite opening the two Zach Bryan shows at Gillette, so who knows?
Geese was announced as the Gizz opener at Suffolk Downs, but if Jason Isbell can play a local headlining show and open two shows at Gillette, I similarly wouldn't write them off.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Zach Bryan tour is cancelled or at least downsized to arenas

One sold out show and another nearing it at Gilette say otherwise. I think radius clauses have less of an impact on support acts, which is why Jason is doing a show in Boston the night before.

Plus, there are fans of Isbell who may not be big fans of Bryan and not willing to shell out the crazy ticket prices just to see Isbell (raises hand). His show this past summer at Roadrunner was phenomenal and I will be there next June.

In 2019/2020 the possibility of Post Malone headlining seemed like a worst case scenario, now in 2024 he seems like one of the better options out of who they might book lmao. And my general opinion of his music hasn't really changed since then
