it was great. only kinda meh part is the day time and night time schedule are at two different locations so you have to either shuttle or taxi between the two randomly at like 9pm or something and I think the headliners started right when the night time part opened.
Highy doubt a lot of overlap happening from those line-ups if you look at the '22 vs '23 line-ups. In the end no Travis, AM, Björk, Phoebe, Arca, FJM, Mitski, Beach House. Smaller names like Caroline Polachek, Sevdaliza, Jbrekkie, Peggy etc. did return to the 2023 line-up aswell tho.

holding out hope for The Cure and Slowdive since they’re on all the South American lineups (assuming Slowdive is on São Paulo)

My bet is that The Cure will do the July EU run w Rock Werchter, Roskilde, BST show, Mad Cool, NOS Alive etc. etc. tbh. I'm still hoping they'll PS tho.

Blur is doing that and they also did Prima, it’s definitely doable

yeah I really think it’s more just about availability and who’s touring Europe in the summer, not many package deals to play the South America then Barcelona edition the next year.
The Cure are a no brainer tbh. Played in 2012, now again in the orbit and with Depeche Mode playing this year we could even write down their time slot right now.
Agreed. Probably skipping next year to do End of the Road or Melt but if you're even thinking of going, 200€ is the best deal for a festival of this size.
Absolutely skip the VIP if anyone is thinking about it.
I actually just got a follow up email that said basically the double weekend will be BCN and Porto. If the Porto dates hasn't been officially confirmed, it's June 7th - 9th.
“although both the city of Madrid and the whole region welcomed us with open arms, with a warmth that was mirrored in the institutions, the cultural agents and of course the audience, the external difficulties that the festival had to face in the final stretch of the pre-production gave rise to one of the most complicated events that Primavera Sound has ever had to face. And today, in the run-up to 2024, the city does not have a site able to host an event of this magnitude and format in terms of audience demands, production requirements, and musical show.”
