G-eazy and Macklemore are both offensive to listen to
few macklemore apologies:
1. "thrift shop" feels played out now but the catchiness was undeniable when it dropped. it's the type of song anyone can immediately connect with, just good old fashioned solid pop song writing. i also respect the subject matter, gunna take a little money to a thrift store and walk out looking fresh.
2. "same love" is maybe not a great song but at least he was trying to do something nice for the gays.
3. i saw him live at voodoo fest and thought it was cool he toured with all the people who did little features on his songs. like the actual guy who sang the chorus to "thrift shop" was there and came out for that one song. would've been cheaper to just play the recorded track during that part so respect for trying to get his people paid.
4. he's a junkie and has had some struggles/relapses, but he's been open about it and it's cool he shared his experience with opiates and their dangers.
re: 2-4 i know it's not "vote for the nicest white rapper" but i think trying to be a decent dude should win him a couple points.

I believe some of his older stuff is actually good. I haven’t really listened a lot but I’ve heard stuff where he was actually rapping pretty well.

As long as NF, Vanilla Ice, Post Malone and the new additions are there, I'm going to spare voting for him even though I don't enjoy listening to him.

TIL Snow is strangely a more authentic musician than many on this list:
In 1987, Snow served eight months of a one-year sentence after pleading guilty to beating a person with a crowbar during a bar brawl.[6] Upon his release in January 1988, the Jamaican-born DJ Marvin Prince saw O'Brien deejaying at a party and the two became friends. For the next few years, they practiced in Prince's basement, and played parties, with Snow providing vocals and Prince playing records. Prince, who would claim that he helped Snow refine his reggae singing and use of the Jamaican dialect, and that he came up with the name 'Snow', told the Los Angeles Times that they passed around a lot of tapes but could not get Snow signed because he was white.[7][8]
In 1988, Snow was involved in an incident at a North York pub, in which two people were stabbed. Other people in the group pointed the finger at him, and he was charged with two counts of attempted murder.[editorializing] Rather than tell authorities who the perpetrator was, Snow served eight months in jail before a jury acquitted him on both counts. While he was in jail, he went to school and wrote music, which he performed for fellow inmates. One song was called "Informer".[9]
dude didn't rat then wrote a song about it thats whats up.

he was a rapper for at least the first couple albums. Circles isn't a rap song but Wow and Rockstar definitely are
god do y'all remember the first time you heard "rockstar". within literal seconds of that track starting i went from thinking of post malone as kind of a joke to like "oh no i love this song so much it hurts".
Is One Take Jake a Jake & Amir reference or am I missing some important context
i know we said we aren't doing rappers from groups, but i included the guys from the Creamy Crew because they are basically the modern day Beastie Boys.
