Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
the hardcore scene hates any band that gets some modicum of popularity. Knocked Loose album was hated among the scene despite being loved by the masses. They’ve basically turned on Turnstile too.
I don't think that's applicable here.
I saw Killswitch Engage at Sonic Temple years ago. Nothing memorable. Saw Turnstile when they played on the crappo stage at 3 PM. That was memorable!
Can we finally get the Scissor Sisters back? Their late night show in 2011 was incredibly gay. Those giant silver tubes over the crowd filled with confetti are still a core Bonnaroo memory.
Dammit! I missed that one. That was my first Roo and by 11 PM I was done. Would trudge back to my little tent while all the late nighters streamed in. Thank God I saw the Arcade Fire set, with the blue & purple things that rained down from the sky. That's a core Roo memory for me.
One critique that I do have for the current Roo Administration is that I feel they play it way too safe on a lot of things in recent years.
Our lineups are slowly morphing into being indistinguishable to Lolla or ACL, we don't have things like Walter Productions anymore, fewer surprise shows, etc.
I realize some of that is a necessary evil to stay solvent and keep things running well, but it does sting quite a bit for much of the character of Roo to be slowly bleeding away.
Good point. Would a nutty band like King Khan & the Shrines be booked there in this day & age?
