According to the census, this may be the list of headliners they are considering for next year:
Widespread Panic Tame Impala Miley Cyrus Zach Bryan Tyler, The Creator Coldplay The Eagles Lana Del Rey Luke Combs Bert Kreischer Eminem Dolly Parton Odesza Phish Noah Kahan Dua Lipa Morgan Wallen Olivia Rodrigo Metallica Childish Gambino Hozier Beyonce Theo Von Billie Eilish Slipknot Future & Metro Boomin
motleyroo thread got locked, but Secret Dreams or Nelsonville Music Festival are two camping festivals in Ohio with great vibes. Secret Dreams is a wook fest for sure with good jam and bass, lineup is very good this year. Nelsonville is mostly indie folk type stuff with rap and some other stuff thrown in.
I always consider both of those festivals because the lineups are usually pretty good and they’re close. I need to just do it one of these years! Has anyone here attended either?
I've never attended either, but I'd love to check out Nelsonville one of these days. I did attend a Hookahville or two in the '90s at Legend Valley (the Secret Dreams site), which began my love of camping festivals.
Upcoming Shows: 11/8 - Goose @ The Andrew J. Brady Center 11/13 - Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros w/ The Wolfpack & The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra @ Cincinnati Music Hall 2/14 - Alan Walker @ The Fillmore Detroit 4/15 - Ben Folds w/ The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra @ Cincinnati Music Hall
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I attended the first year of Secret Dreams and loved it! The vibes were great, I think it got moved up this year so it will probably be pretty hot. Haven't been to Nelsonville, but have heard nothing but good things.
Thanks for the advice in this thread and the last one. All great recommendations. I think Hulaween sounds like the best bet if I can convince him to make the trek to Florida. He likes mostly EDM and sometimes live bands and I’m the opposite so that lineup seems like a good balance. I did some research on Hula, this reddit post was helpful, and the vibe I’m getting is that Hula is kind of like if Where in the Woods was an entire festival, is that an accurate way to describe it?
tldr from the last thread: brother had a rough couple of months and was really looking forward to roo but had to miss it at the last minute, looking for something to fill the void so we don’t have to wait a whole year for farm vibes

i've never been to hulaween specifically, but have been to Spirit of Suwanee Music Park multiple times for other festivals, your bolded description above feels fairly accurate. it's the best music festival venue i've personally been to. there's a reason they manage to have multiple (several?) music festivals there every year, despite it being in Live Oak, FL. beautiful, lush, loads of shade. if you go y'all will have a great time.
Yea was really surprised on some of the questions. Asking about doing two weekends of Roo and reducing from 4 days stood out to me.
Many other questions on scale and the focus of the fest too. Begs the question with the current cost of putting on fests if some big changes could be coming next year.
Two weekends of Roo could be cool and I would most likely end up attempting to do both, lineup dependent of course. But Electric Forest tried this several years ago and it was short lived due to the stresses caused to the community and the venue in general. You have to think it would be similar situation for Roo if they moved to two weekends, especially if they are b2b. One or two big rain storms during W1/between W1 and W2 and it would be a muddy mess.

Happy for Jeremy Fragrance to finally get the bump to headliner. He deserves it

Yea hopefully two weekends isn’t a serious consideration. Even the alternative to rain is bad as the farm will look more like Burning Man by W2 with all the dust.
11/17: Slowdive* 11/19: Caribou* 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

Weekend 2 at ACL is always dusty as hell but the grounds aren’t open 24/7 like Centeroo so I’d imagine it would be even worse at Bonnaroo. I think it’s possible for two weeks to work but there’s obviously a lot more that can go wrong weather in between weeks and a lot of other factors they’d have to figure out.
Would they clear out campgrounds between weekends or just let those that are doing both stay? Have campgrounds for double weekers and campgrounds for just weekend 1 and weekend 2? Would save money on setup and tear down but definitely not have as many people there each weekend. Would they make as much money with two 45k weekends as they would with one 75k weekend?

i didn't get any of those questions.
I was confused at first too. Those questions werent on the first survey email I received. This is from a separate survey that came out earlier today.

ah got it, haven't received a second survey, but i just filled out the first survey this morning. i was thinking my questions might have changed in the first survey because i told them i stayed in a hotel, the next ten pages of questions was just "so you're a weak little bitch boy?" over and over with "yes" or "yes" being the only responses available.

You would've thought they already knew you were a little bitch boy
Contracting to 3 days is the opposite of the direction I want to see them go. Keep expanding Tuesday and Wednesday.
eh the bigger those days get the more watered down the rest get. I think having a couple cool things Wednesday, a small but critically good Thursday, and then big names over the weekend is still the best way to do it if they're not going to have a crazy budget to just go nuts
