VIP schedule is out.
Looks like I'll be doing 2-day VIP for this.
Saturday: Starting the day in the VIP lounge with Eggy is a great way to begin after setting up camp nearby. This day has some great EDM when the sun sets and would end with a STS9 show in The Red Barn and some dancing at Sunsquabi.
Sunday: Seeing flamingos and dinosaurs to start my day. Not too familiar with anything before Doom Flamingo at 4.30pm so lots to discover. Double Goose into a clusterfuck of fun shows to end the weekend.
Moe. canceled, I'm curious how they are going to replace them.
Damn, that’s a bummer. At least Moe. wasn’t concentrated onto a single day because that could have wiped out a huge whole chunk of a single day.
Thursday: 10pm-12am Saturday: 5pm-6:30pm Saturday with UM: 11pm-12:45am Sunday: 7pm-8:30pm
Thursday I’d be cool with SCI just shifting later into Moe.’s time slot. I wouldn’t be surprised for UM to pick up at least 1 of the sets. We could see Goose potentially scooping up a later Saturday set because 3 of goose are performing Saturday as Orebolo so we know they’ll be onsite, potentially even on Friday. Sunday could maybe give Disco Biscuits the opportunity to get another set, especially one on the main stage that isn’t the last set of the weekend?
The Hail Mary option is if they can find someone not currently on the lineup to come. I know we mentioned Billy Strings pre-lineup announcement because he was available on Sunday. Spitballing other scenarios, if previous regular scampers are available, it’s not unrealistic to think some jammy-artist can show up (ie Les Claypool starts touring this summer, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead starts touring in 2 weeks, etc.)

If I was organizing this festival, I probably wouldn't book a replacement. If they aren't going to book a replacement I see this a logical solution.
Thursday: 10pm-12am (UM, since this is a prime slot and could easily make this work. Similar band, similar size) Saturday: 5pm-6:30pm (Steady Flow, this slot would be perfect to have a regular fill. They also play Red Barn so they must know they draw a crowd) Saturday with UM: 11pm-12:45am (UM, could see some other guests sit in or just be a regular set) Sunday: 7pm-8:30pm (Biscuits, although a little early in the day this could be a fair replacement. They only play 1 set and that is at 2.30am which I've seen people complain about)
I'd rather see them book a replacement for the Sat 5pm set and the Sun 7pm set. Those 2 aren't prime slots so a bands like Lettuce or Spafford could make sense.
My shit’s all packed. Gonna try to get to bed early tonight and get up early tomorrow morning so I can get the 6.5 drive done by noon Thursday and enter when it opens.
Left the Twin Cities at 5:45am, got into the VIP line at 12:30pm. Took about an hour to get thru the line and get parked. 2 hours hauling gear and getting set up in the VIP woods but now just chillin at my campsite
For VIP, absolutely ZERO searching of gear, unlike GA which has to go thru that nasty entrance line.

First Impressions are great. The GA line check to get in looked like a nightmare and with all the extra VIP perks, VIP is a no brainer. The free 24-pack of beer ended up being an IPA which is great for me. Really surprised by the number of vendors. Being a smaller fest, I wondered how expansive the vendors, art, installations, etc. and they all punch above their weight. Also, VIP showers are free and I took advantage after camp setup Thursday afternoon. Glorious.
Thursday Undercover Organism Haize & Company The String Cheese Incident (2 Sets) - Just WOW The Werks (Red Barn) Big Something (Red Barn) Steady Flow
Woke up to some storms and it’s drizzling a little rain this morning.

Thanks for the updates! With this being super close to Chicago I've always wondering about checking out this fest. Excited to hear your thoughts afterwards

Yeah I camped in VIP (by accident) last year and loved those toilets and showers. VIP upgrade makes a lot of sense for this fest.
Have you made a night stroll through the woods already?
Can't wait to get there! Should be there tomorrow when the gates open. Is there still plenty of space in VIP camping?
Day 2 in the books. Things definitely ratcheted up a notch, more people more lights, etc. Lots of T-storms and an hour weather delay during the afternoon. STS9 in the rain for the first half of their set was magical. The grounds were crazy muddy last night but seem to have already dried out pretty well. Weather looks amazing for Saturday.
Friday Easy Riders (VIP) Polyrhythmics Mihali The String Cheese Incident Umphrey’s Mcgee (Partial Set) Barclay Crenshaw STS9 - FUCK YES The Werks (Partial Set) John Summit
Day 4 in the books. Made the 6.5 hour drive home and walked in the door an hour ago. Another great weather day and music was amazing. Goose was my most highly anticipated show as I haven’t been able to see them yet and they absolutely delivered. They are absolutely a headliner now. I’ve watched their other live sets on YouTube and this was at another level. Deadmau5 cancelled last minute and John Summit was not impressive so IMO they kinda struck out on the big name DJs (and wtf is Slander?). I luckily don’t really care for thumpy-thump music so none of that impacted me. LP Giobbi’s Dead House Set was awesome though.
Was also able to briefly meet Mr.BelgianAmbers Saturday afternoon at Eggy in the VIP.
Will definitely be doing this again if they can put together a solid lineup next year.
Sunday Vibeline (Partial Set) Doom Flamingo Artifakts (Partial Set) Goose (2 Sets) LP Giobbi (Dead House Set) Big Gigantic The Disco Biscuits
