Opened this and my Instagram jumped ahead several reels to a video of a Lego train going over a Lego bridge in a swimming pool and was really hoping FKA twigs was truly on some new shit for a moment.
sub, huh? I figured they'd be a headliner. Sounds ok to me though.
In what world would Tvotr headline when you have the likes of Vampire Weekend, The Strokes and Lcd still around and active. Youre giving them too much credit I think.

I guess I meant more top line of the poster than an "actual closing the main stage headliner". some years had 4 names across the top of the poster and I would think TVotR could be one of those names. I mean, with the reunion and hiatus, they would at least be above MIA and Beach House.

Fair enough.
Shaboozey in for Stagecoach. Theyre gonna keep dropping this lineup earlier and earlier.
Much as there's a one year delay between artists playing other GV festivals like Cruel World and Coachella, maybe we should start expecting the same of the Coachella. Hope you're ready to see a tweet like this come January:
I feel like Olivia is headed down the Lolla, Bonnaroo, Gov Ball route. If anything this to me keeps proving it’s going to be Dua.
Dua Lipa Rauw Alejandro • Massive Attack
Rihanna Halsey • Bryson Tiller
Kendrick Lamar Rüfüs du Sol • Skrillex
RTTD: Tame Impala
Undercard crossover potential from South America lineups: Benson Boone, Tate McRae, The Marias, Caribou, Foster the People, Zedd, Parcels, Fontaines DC, JPEGMAFIA, Artemas, Disco Lines, Taichu, Modeselektor, Ela Minus
So I’m gonna have a 2 month old for Coachella 2025
Do my tour dates make me out? For the parents out there when did you officially return? 😂
My daughter was born in February and I was out in the desert in April. My wife was ready for a few days break from me by that point haha. It was our first kid so it was easy for her to just spend a weekend cuddling that little baby. Now she’s 18 and we are about to drop her at university of Chicago for her first year of college in a few weeks, time flies.
Also hopping on the "Olivia is less likely" train 🚂. Coach hasn't had much headliner overlap with the SA Lollas and Estero Picnic in the past few years so the fact that she's booked for ALL of 'em makes me feel like GV may have passed on her.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

I think if she hits up every festival then it really wouldnt be that big of a deal compared to Dua kicking off things at Coachella and then a tour to follow with no other festivals. Theyll probably wait for album 3 to book her.

Olivia could have signed a contract with Live Nation for the 2024 tour followed by 2025 festivals.
I also wouldn’t put it past Dua to be working on some deluxe version of Radical Optimism. Could even see her try to get some big features given Charli’s success with Billie / Lorde this Summer

She most likely did just with the Lolla bookings popping up. Dua already released the extended version of the album.
Damn looks like no MJ Lenderman next year. Just got announced for two Fonda shows in February.
Would we say that this is 100% out? I get confused with this: "Coachella uses radius clauses which could prevent acts from performing in Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, or San Diego within a certain window. The festival has allowed some of its acts to make appearances in the region prior to the festival, but only at events and venues owned or controlled by AEG. According to the radius clause...
I know the radius clause may or may not exist anymore, but I do know Fonda is an AEG GV venue. I know a bunch of artists we've listed throughout the thread/reddit have a bunch of shows coming up at AEG GV venues (Fonda, Novo, El Rey, Roxy, Shrine, etc).
If anyone could clarify this that would be great because this portion is always the hardest to update on the reddit tracker.

Radius still exists. They choose when and when not to enforce it on some acts. Somebody like Mj Lenderman might not be the type to do that. But who knows. Been a handful of times an artist that had a show in feb or even march still played the fest
out of sheer curiosity I am making a list of artists rn who played the festival this year and did a Goldenvoice show within six months prior to the festival. I don't think it'll be illuminating, but we'll see. (it'll probably take a while. I'm on the Bs right now.) but also for those who are curious here's the Lolla SA crossover artists from each year post COVID [as always I may have missed one or two]. As you can see, it tends to vary how many artists and what kind of artists cross over:
Lolla SA 2024 Crossover: Diplo [kind of] Jungle Dom Dolla Latin Mafia
Lolla SA 2023 Crossover: Blink-182 [kind of] Rosalía Jamie xx Kali Uchis Fred again.. [kind of] Alison Wonderland [kind of] Dominic Fike Sofi Tukker Mochakk Yungblud Nora En Pure
Lolla SA 2022 crossover: Doja Cat Turnstile Caribou Pabllo Vittar King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard Phoebe Bridgers IDLES Channel Tres Nicki Nicole

ok I'm halfway through the list and I'm going to stop for the day but I doubt the pattern will change much: of all the artists I've looked at so far who did shows at Goldenvoice venues/events six months prior to Coachella this year, all of them were in 2023. I think an artist doing a show at a GV venue next year is a pretty good sign they're not playing.
Adriatique [played Afterlife, October 2023] Anyma [played Afterlife, October 2023] ATARASHII GAKKO!! [played Fonda, November 2023] Cloonee [did two Framework/GV shows in December 2023] Depresión Sonora [played El Rey, November 2023] Faye Webster [played the Novo, November 2023] Kenya Grace [played El Rey, December 2023] Kevin de Vries [played Afterlife, October 2023] late night drive home [played El Rey, December 2023]

I did a quick search on Songkick through all the LA GV venues and I didn't see a single one for 2024. The last artist I recall having LA GV shows the same year leading up to Coachella was Molchat Doma in 2022. They actually had multiple shows but they were all sold out well before the lineup was announced.
So unless the shows sell out quickly leaving demand for Coachella, probably safe to assume that anybody who announces a 2025 LA GV show before Coachella is still most likely out. Looking at what GV shows have been announced for next year already, that means we can probably rule out Windows95Man, Death From Above 1979, Arooj Aftab, Lo Moon, Sultan + Shepard, Nathy Peluso and a few others including MJ Lenderman (unless his two Fonda shows sell out quickly).
