Missy is already touring with Timbo, Ciara, Busta Rhymes so that's likely not happening. BUT they really should book at least a couple artists from that 90s/00s R&B pool
I think Usher would honestly be a solid Friday HL pick. His shows are A LOT better than that Super Bowl performance I promise lol
Anyways, is Rihanna really expecting another child?.. Well, give me Adele at least. Is she turning 35 yet? We need another milestone age so she can put out a new album lol

Adele I think is one of the best headliners they could book that they actually would book.

Adele had the choice between Coachella and the Vegas residency and she chose Vegas which then turned into a shitstorm for her at the beginning. Im sure if she could go back she would do Coachella and make sure Vegas was sorted out.
I take back what I said about Donald Glover, I just saw an ad on Hulu for his tour. I don't think I've ever seen a TV ad for a tour this is gonna be a bloodbath
It’s increased a lot. I’ve seen future’s tour on Tubi, Meg on Hulu and Intuit Dome has commercials on tv.
Do you just like to complain? He wasn't a planned headliner which doesn't exclude him from headlining again, many people are craving a full Fred performance, and he definitely isn't boring (what do you find not boring, I guess is the better question..). I would love for a full Fred set and a full Four Tet set, and if we get Tet I hope we get Ben too (at Quasar).
Yes I love to complain, and trust my taste and experience. Fred’s sound didn’t translate to giant crowds so well when I saw him headline in 2023. And yes, 3 sets in 4 years is a little over saturated. That said, at least he’s a little more unique and interesting.
It’s so disappointing to see yall clamoring for a manufactured top40 radio pop princess. She’s famously bad live. Her new album is boring. Headliners like her are the living proof as to why Coachella is not cool anymore. She makes music for children.
Give me Missy Elliot/Timbaland and friends for a full Y2K send with Ciara, ginuwine, Nelly furtado, jay z whoever. That’s the shit coachella is known for and real superstar headliner set.
Fair, different preferences and honestly I like complaining too lmao. Were you at W2 2023 though? The PHM set was major and the crowd went wild for Fred's stuff, plus he has new music this time around (and is teasing more)

Travis Scott hasn't had a Coachella worthy album since Astroworld, I'm surprised you'd pick him over Dua tbh. That and the crowd he'd incite, I just don't think he can be trusted in what is generally considered probably one of the safest festivals out there.

Coachella did book him in 2020 and even at that point it was kinda well known that his shows weren't exactly orderly

Yeah, but at worst then it seemed like a rough pit, I don't see GV gravitating toward him after Astroworld Fest though. That combined with the downgrade in music quality, I just don't see it happening, but I could be wrong.
Edit: No major US fest has taken him since Astroworld Fest. Lolla has put him on a few international spots, Primavera Chile was his first after the incident, and he's run a few EU fests, but no Gov Ball, Bonnaroo, ACL, Coachella, etc. etc.

Dua Lipa is boring live too. Famously so. And her last tour wasn’t selling out the way yall say a headliner NEEDS to be. She was a snooze fest at lollapalooza 22. If they book her than it’ll be one less conflict.
Headlining coachella doesn’t mean much these days
Future nostalgia tour had potential (based on the studio 2054 streaming concert) but got canceled / postponed so many times due to pandemic. Once they got the green light , seems like they just used a lot of scraps to save on costs (Same happened to GAGA for chromatica ball, future nostalgia tour was lackluster in regards to production). I don’t think it was boring at all, but Dua’s mistake was that she did the exact same tour setlist at festivals.
Y'all think there's a good chance for a Worship B4B somewhere on the lineup or at least Sub Focus and Dimension given the huge uptick in visibility DnB's gotten recently? Sub Focus and Dimension were at Ultra, all of Worship are doing individual sets (minus 1991) plus a B4B at EDC this weekend, and Sub Focus and Dimension are at Hard Summer. I feel like that run, especially at the bigger electronic fests in the west has to mean something. Plus that John Summit x Sub Focus collab that was ID'd at Coachella is out now, seems like it's gonna smash and would provide a good throughline lineup wise from year to year.

100% wrong. Her Lolla set was great and so was the arena tour.

This is a crazy reason for thinking a tour is going to be big lol.
People in here just posting Lovers and Friends fest wishlists in this thread rn.
That's cause those Y2K era artists are having a big nostalgia moment and Coachella very clearly noticed this with the guests we got this year. Let's not delude ourselves into thinking they're gonna book a Y2K era headliner but I fully expect the post-Chella survey to receive a LOT of responses from folks who want this cohort of artists on future lineups. (Also, knock the fest all you want but Lovers&Friends is one of the few fests that actually sold out this year, GV would be dumb to ignore the way those artists move tix.)
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

I think they're saying the opposite - if he has to do TV advertising it doesn't bode well for sales.

He's doing an arena tour of one date per city (except huge cities like LA and London). I don't think he's going to have any issue selling it out, but I guess we'll see. I've not heard much response about the album one way or another yet.

If Coachella largely ignored the emo revival (outside of Emo Nite, Taking Back Sunday and MCR dropping out) then I have doubt they're all of a sudden going to chase Y2K artists going through a similar moment.

Maybe going against my own point- but him djing is a little different than his live shows. When I saw him we were bored by the 5 minute intro/interludes of him noodling on the piano and talking. And then when the beats came in it was just not hard enough to justify staying when there was better shit going on like 500 feet away. I think his music is better suited for more intimate settings than Coachella main. Maybe he’s figured it out since.

If Kendrick has a new album on the way, put him in that spot instead. Olivia Friday, Kendrick Saturday, close out with Adele. I believe her residency ends this fall

Working slowly on a revision to my mock and realizing there's a lot of 2022 acts that I could see returning as second line acts or first names on the third line. The Marias, Turnstile, Omar Apollo, Still Woozy, Rina Sawayama, Steve Lacy (w/ the Internet), Wallows would all not shock me as returning in higher spots next year.

Isn't Billie already ruled out with her tour dates? Plays Dec 15-17 in LA. She has a gap between Australia and Europe, but not sure if that means much.

Right on the edge of the radius clause, think it kicks in Dec 15.
I don’t think they’d want to bring her back as a headliner so soon though.
